I edited my profile with fishnessEditor V4.4 Waliyaan, qui veut dire exil en Wolof est une formation de musiciens Sénégalais, Français, Portuguais et Centro-Algériens réunis autour d’un style qui retrace l’itinéraire de la musique noire (afro, jazz, blues, funk, reggae, hip-hop …) Ce style qu’ils définissent sous le nom d’Afro-Blue-Hop témoigne d’une identité, qui comme leur musique se veut hybride Des textes dans lesquels les mots trouvent toute leur force évocatrice. Y résonnent les déchirements de l’exil, la quête du sens, du beau, du vrai, et l’immersion dans leur monde intérieur. Leur musique est une musique d’exilés, ancrée dans ses racines africaines et poreuses à tous les souffles… Waliyaan, which means exile in wolof, is a six-musician-band who are Senegalese, French,Portuguese and Centro-Algerian. All gathered around a style which recounts the history of black music (afro, jazz, blues, funk,reggae, hip-hop...) This music they define by the name of Afrobluehop witnesses an identity as hybrid as their music, Lyrics in which words recover their suggestive strenght within echoe the wrench of exile, the quest for beauty,the true and the immersion in their world.
