AfroBrazil's goal is to preserve, promote and spread the Afro-Brazilian culture, in all its aspects: music, dance, religion, and culinary arts. At this time our primary focus is on the music and dance, thru different music entities:
- BatukAxé drum and dance ensemble playing samba reggae and other batucada style grooves.
- Banda Jiló playing Forro music from northeastern Brazil.
- Aguidá plays Axé music, the most contemporary music style from Salvador.
- Mangalô a modern interpretation of traditional Brazilian grooves.
Our goals are to create an annual event fully dedicated to the Afro-Brazilian culture and to organize an annual trip to Bahia to spread the knowledge of Afro-Brazilian culture in the US by exposing people to the lifestyle of Bahia.

Thanks for the add request. If you haven't already, It would be great if you would take a listen to my two new tracks and drop a review on my comments. "Have A Heart" is a fushion of Jazz, Latin, Rap, Soul and R & B and "Sabrosa" is a blend of Caribbean Latin Salsa and English Rap...I know you like it! My lyrics and music are intended to inspire and influence listeners postiively trusting that it will reach the ear and hearts and aid in the manifestation of positive change globally at best and individually at the least. "Have a Heart" will be featured on a compliation cd for victim relief starting with the New Mexico Domestic Violence Association. Keep an eye out for notice of the completion of my R & B / Jazz Christmas song sure to become a classic.
Come join the celebration over the release of our new CD – Boteco!!
‘Boteco’ is an artful mixture of neo-futuristic traditional Brazilian rhythms with the right quantity of the best North American spices. It is funk and rock boiling and baking with samba, maracatu, frevo and baiao.
Put Pele and Mohammed Ali in a fictional mix machine. Now add Frank Zappa, Sergio Mendes, Tom Jobim and Roger Waters and fused in to one. What a mix eh? Bat Makumba is this fusion, multiplied by 2.
