In the music industry, we can never underestimate the power of new artists. They are the new blood that brings energy and income to the recording industry. It is the same philosophy that applies to Afro-Connection. A-C was founded in 2007 by Kid-KHALIL, LANCE, BMC, and DEDE. BMC is from Senegal. He is a full-time college student majoring Music Industry Study and Technology Focus at the University of Colorado. LANCE, KHALIL & DEDE are originally from Guinea Conakry.
Khalil and Lance met BMC after they heard his music at his brother’s shop, then They got together in the studio and recorded two hot tracks called Joggyti Mic and BMC is the One at the same day.” They performed several shows together and it was amazing and they sound well as a group. The crowd love them and then They decided to form a group. Since They are all from Africa but in different area, therefore, They came up with the name “Afro-Connection” A-C is four hungry united hustlers from the motherland.
Music is their destiny and it is what gets them going! The art form of music is known as a savior of mankind. Dead and ill people react to it and it has been said to revive people in a coma. An example of this transformation can be seen in A-C abilities to unify as Africans and create songs from their African and American spirits, and convert them into lyrics and accompanying music wether it is Hip Hop, Reggae, Dance-hall, Afro-beat, R&B, Soul, or Rock&roll; whatever you name it! Afro-Connection is a crossover recording hip hop group that not just makes the music that sells but delivers tunes that move your soul.
Afro-Connection influences are Bob Marley, KSR One, Positive Black Soul, De La Soul, Rakim, Fugees, etc. They have been rapping since 1998 back home before They came to the United States for education and to pursue their music career in States. They have collaborated with other African big name artists such as Fafadi, Baxow, Tapha, etc.
Now A-C spend most of their time making new music and performing in music venues nationwide and internationally. They have two unrelease albums on the table. They about to release one of them in 2009 worldwide. It has not been tittled yet, but it somthing that symbolizes Their artistic visions and how they are living in the United States.
