Bio
Oobleck ~ a fictional green precipitation in the Dr. Seuss book Bartholomew and the Oobleck ~ a non-Newtonian fluid made from 2 parts corn starch to 1 part water Oobleck A reincarnation of James Brown funk, mixed with jazz infusions of oolong-tea and crispy grilled cheese with jalapenos bringing the heat. A funky dance-a-thon. Hot horns, driving percussion, and a steady rhythm to welcome you in from the cold. Founded in 2008 as Duchess & the Afro Dub Rebels, Oobleck has come a long way. A six piece original horn band hailing from the Capital Region of New York, Oobleck is a band that works hard and plays harder. Prone to breaking into New Orleans rhythms and starting a 2nd line, they are always up to funk your face off. If you don't get an irrestistable urge to move your feet, you probably have no soul. -
