About me:
NEXT AFROPICK WILL BE NOV. 3, 2007, BANDS THE PO PO NOVEAU RICHE TRIBAL SCREAM AT THE ROTUNDA, 8:00 P.M. MARK IT DOWN NOW YALL! Afropick is a showcase for people of color doing alternative music: punk, rock, metal, alternative, hip hoprockfusionmetalfunksoulpunk and whatever the hell else you want to call it. It's a quarterly series held at the Rotunda (4014 Walnut St. in Philadelphia), and is planned by a collective of young folks of color who are all in bands. It is a fundraiser for the Human Rights Coalition (www.hrcoalition.com), a prisoners family organization, and is co-sponsored by South St. Sounds, The Rotunda, The Wooden Shoe, Philly ABC and Philly IndyMedia. You should create your own MySpace Layouts like me by using nUCLEArcENTURy.COM's MySpace Profile Editor!

Who I'd like to meet:
The show is organized by mostly women of color for all people of color interested in alternative music. In addition, we have a no gender and sexual harassment (sexism, homophobia, transphobia) policy- as the organizers, attendees, and performers represent a diverse range of participants. If you are cannot comply with this rule, you will be banned from the event.
