About me:

Afropick was created in June 1999 and put on its first show, SOULFOOD on the 1st Aug 1999 in Zar-Zar bar Stratford, east London. SOULFOOD then moved the the tabernacle in west London where it remained for 5 years. During this time a host of poets and performers have graced the SOULFOOD stage. Artist such as Malika Booker, Zena Edwards, Kat Francios, Jacob Sam-La Rose, Roger Robinson, Best Kept Secret (BKS), shortMAN, Nii Parkes, Deep Corbra, Lyrical Healer, floetic Lara, Lemn Sissay, Jonzi D and many more (a full list will be posted soon) SOULFOOD has also had international performer Estelle perform on several occasions SOULFOOD became established as one of the most successful poetry events in London. The Afropick team took an extended break and now return once again to ... 'feed your mind, nourish your soul'.
