Afro Tribe: un progetto discografico voluto da Carmine Giorgio in arte "Gio' DeiNoster " nato a Salerno, figlio d'arte .
Già dall'età di sette anni comincia a suonare e cantare, successivamente studia canto e chitarra e per diversi anni porta avanti il gruppo Popolare dei "Cantori di Silvana Ferrajolo" interpretando i classici napoletani intramontabili e rientrando nell'album CONCERTO NAPOLETANO con l'Orchestra Nepeta.
Gio' DeiNoster avvalendosi di un gruppo di musicisti da lui selezionati, con il brano "Bacchetta Magica" , singolo dell'omonimo album, partecipa nel 2007 al concorso 1°Maggio Roma classificandosi prima band della Campania.
Una band di giovani e tenaci musicisti, nati e cresciuti in provincia di SALERNO.
Un percorso lungo e denso di avvenimenti che ha portato la band di Carmine Giorgio in arte GIO' DEINOSTER ad essere una formazione del panorama alternativo italo/partenopeo e che ha permesso ad un certo tipo di musica, di uscire allo scoperto e di dimostrarsi una importante realtà, non solo per il contenuto dell’album, testi ironici, trasgressivi, e, spesso, surreali, ma anche, se non soprattutto, per il grandissimo riscontro live riscosso. Il loro progetto nato e sostenuto da GIO' DEINOSTER è riuscito a collocarsi sempre nei luoghi di intersezione tra spazi sonori distanti, per esplorare quei territori della musica contemporanea non ancora tracciati.
Creatività, verità, originalità e orecchiabilità sono le caratteristiche dei brani scritti ed arrangiati dalla voce della band GIO' DEINOSTRER, lui ha saputo affrontare tematiche sociali ed impegnate, dimostrando maturazione artistica…
Lo stesso leader della band, come anche lo staff di collaborazione, alla domanda di come riuscisse spiegare il successo live della band risponde: “ Un concerto live è la trasmissione di emozioni ogni sera diverse”.
“Per questo ogni concerto è diverso, ogni serata una diversa organizzazione, e le persone tornano sempre a sentirci”.
Gli AFRO TRIBE entrano nell’orbita della pop/rock cantautoriale ed in quella della BLOND RECORDS.

www.antonioonorato.com) che vanta collaborazioni con Pino Daniele, Enzo Gragnaniello, Franco Cerri durante concerti in Italia, e che recentemente è stato ospite del Blue Note di New York e Milano, con il quale condividono spesso la scena live.
Un cd dal contenuto azzardato anche per la lingua francese usata per il brano “VITA DA BAMBINI”, il brano“BACCHETTA MAGICA” le cui sonorità sfuggono a una catalogazione particolare, essendo caratterizzata da una follia musicale.
I pezzi sfiorano diversi tipi di sonorità: dalle atmosfere latine (“Bacchetta Magica”), e afro dance (“Assolutamente” e “Dichiarazione d’amore”) ad altre più afro/percussion ( “ DNA”).
Con questo album di debutto la band campana, pur non perdendo le caratteristiche partenopee di razionalità dei testi contestatari, si avvicina anche a sonorità pop ( soprattutto nel brano “Tu come l’estate”), ma non mancano brani ombrosi e sentimentali e volti al sociale ( su tutti “Vita da bambini” ).

“ed è questo il motivo principale oltre quello di voler oltrepassare certe fasi fastidiose della nostra professione”.
Nel marzo del 2006 gli AFRO TRIBE decidono di entrare in studio per iniziare la realizzazione dell’album di debutto, otto brani inediti di cui la track otto in lingua.
La presentazione è in grande stile: la prima tappa del tour li vede sul palco con ANTONIO ONORATO proprio per omaggiare il pubblico dell’arte musicale.
Un evento importante, destinato a far risaltare le nuove caratteristiche di un gruppo ma soprattutto di un leader che ha dimostrato coraggio nel tuffarsi in una nuova dimensione.
La sua tecnica di scrittura è cambiata con il tempo, la sua impostazione classica quasi sostituita senza scomparire del tutto, dall’immediatezza e l’ ermeticità per dare posto quindi a contenuti reali che nascondono un mistero.
A giugno 2006 parte la presentazione dell’album per poi essere portato nelle diverse tappe del loro tour estivo ed in parte invernale e con interviste e live radiofonici.
Hanno condiviso la scena live con artisti come con EUGENIO BENNATO, ENRICO CAPUANO ( 1° MAGGIO ROMA) in occasione di un concerto all’ALPHEUS di Roma il 29 Ottobre 2006; AFRICA UNITE, CLOTAIRE K durante l’edizione 2006 dell’EXPO di Salerno in collaborazione con la fondazione Italia Wave (AREZZO WAVE) rigorosamente live, ANNALISA MINETTI, MAESTRO AUGUSTO VISCO E GLORIANA.
GIO' DEINOSTER, vocal leader del gruppo è autore e compositore di tutti i brani degli AFRO TRIBE ; come artista all’età di undici anni si esibisce in un teatro di Londra prima di un concerto di una band rock britannica; debutta nel 1992 al TEATRO GAROFALO” con il comico FRANCO PENNASILICO, apre concerti, con la band presente al suo fianco, di RUBERTO MUROLO, A.MINGHI, F.FASANO e si è esibito al Teatro Mercadante Napoli con l’Orchesstra G.Anepeta 1996 e sui palchi del MAURIZIO COSTANZO SHOW 2004 e DOMENICA IN, GIFFONI FILM FESTIVAL.
Vince il premio della critica al festival S.Giuseppe Vesuviano giuria GIGI D’ALESSIO.
Partecipano all’accademia di SAN REMO negli anni scorsi classificandosi tra i primi tre.
Si sono esibiti con concerti live per DIEGO DELLA VALLE, KATIA RICCIARELLI, ON.MASTELLA, FIORELLO, PIPPO BAUDO.
L'album contiene 8 brani inediti e ospita la velocissima chitarra di ANTONIO ONORATO.
Gli Afro Tribe arrivano in finale per l’appuntamento del “PRIMO MAGGIO A ROMA” su 2800 iscritti classificandosi al primo posto in Campania con il singolo “BACCHETTA MAGICA”

Gio’ come definiresti il tuo genere musicale?
Il nostro è un genere leggero e al tempo stesso raffinato. I testi di denuncia e contestazione dell’album “Bacchetta magica” nascondono sempre sentimenti importanti.
Cosa si prova a doversi esibire davanti al pubblico di casa?
E’ sempre molto emozionante cantare nella propria città e sono contento dell’accoglienza e del calore che stiamo ricevendo da numerosi fans. Avremo l’opportunità di far ascoltare la nostra musica in occasione di uno degli eventi sportivi più importanti di Battipaglia come la Ciclolonga e di essere in concerto durante la festa della Speranza. Abbiamo bisogno del sostegno e del calore della gente che ascolta la nostra musica.
Progetti futuri?
Ne abbiamo uno davvero importante che speriamo possa trascinare tutti voi.
In questi giorni abbiamo avuto la fortuna ed il privilegio di incontrare l’attrice CLAUDIA KOLL impegnata nel progetto missionario “Le Opere del Padre” Associazione ONLUS. Prenderemo parte all’iniziativa di sostegno a distanza per l’istruzione primaria, secondaria, superiore e università, sostegno per le famiglie povere, costruzione di ospedali, sale parto e incubatrici : tutto indispensabile, donando il ricavato dalla vendita dei nostri cd all’associazione di CLAUDIA KOLL.
Lei ci ha ringraziato e avendo sentito la nostra canzone è stata felicissima e noi siamo davvero onorati di operare in questo senso.

A band of young and persevering musicians, born and grown up in the province of Salerno (South Italy).
A long and eventful period which has led Carmine Giorgio’s band in art Gio' DeiNoster to stand out in the nonconformist Italian/Parthenopean survey and that has allowed this kind of music, often underestimated in our country, to come out and it has turned out to be an important reality, not only for the album’s content, ironic, transgressive and, often, surrealist, but also and above all, for the great live success.
Their project, born and supported by Carmine Giorgio in art Gio' DeiNoster, in cooperation with AFRO TRIBE, is able to be placed in the places of intersection among distant sound-spaces, to explore those lands of contemporary music which have not been planned yet.
Creativity, truth, originality and catchiness are the striking characteristics of the passages written and arranged by the band’s voice, Carmine Giorgio, who has been able to face up important social themes, showing his artistic maturity…
The band’s leader himself and his staff, when are asked how they can explain the band’s live success, answer: “A live concert is the communication of emotions which are different every night”.
“For this reason every concert is different, every night there is a different organization, and the people always come back to listen to our music”.
The AFRO TRIBE enter the world of the singer-song writer pop/rock music and the one of the BLOND RECORDS.
The realization of this album is made with the cooperation of the guitarist ANTONIO ONORATO as a SPECIAL GUEST (www.antonioonorato.com) who worked with Pino Daniele, Enzo Gragnaniello, Franco Cerri during concerts in Italy, and who recently has been a guest of the Blue Note of New York and Milan, with whom they often share the live scene.
This cd has a risky content also because of the French language used for the song “VITA DA BAMBINI” and because of the particular sonorities of the song “BACCHETTA MAGICA”, in which the sonorities can’t be catalogued easily as it is characterized by such a musical “insanity”.
The songs have sonorities of every kind: Latin (“Bacchetta Magica”), afro dance (“Assolutamente” and “Dichiarazione d’amore”) and afro/percussion (“ DNA”) atmospheres.
With its debut album this band from Campania, though not leaving the Parthenopean characteristics of rationality of the protest texts, gets nearer also to the pop sonorities (above all in the song “Tu come l’estate”), but there are also shady and sentimental songs often directed to social problems (above all “Vita da bambini” ).
“The public is an irreplaceable part of us”, the AFRO TRIBE state in an interview, “and this is the main reason in addition to the will of overstepping some irritating phases of our profession”.
In march 2006 the AFRO TRIBE decide to start to record the debut album, eight unpublished songs of which the track eight in foreign language.
The presentation is in grand style: in the first tour’s stop on the stage they are with ANTONIO ONORATO, just to honour the public with his musical art.
An important event, destined to show up the new characteristics of a group but above all of a leader who has showed to have courage to immerge himself in a new dimension.
His technique of writing is changed and its classical nature has been progressively replaced, without completely vanishing, by immediateness and impenetrability so to give place to real contents hiding a mystery.
In June 2006 the album is presented and then performed in the summer and partly winter tour and in interviews and live radio programs.
They performed live with artists as EUGENIO BENNATO, ENRICO CAPUANO (MAY the 1st ROME) in occasion of the concert at the ALPHEUS in Rome on October 2006 the 29th; AFRICA UNITE, CLOTAIRE K during the 2006 edition of Salerno EXPO in cooperation with the foundation Italia Wave (AREZZO WAVE), rigorously live.
Gio' DeiNoster, vocal leader of the band, is the author and the composer of all the texts of the AFRO TRIBE; when he was eleven years old he performed in a London theatre before the exhibition of a British rock band; he debuted in 1992 at the GAROFALO THEATRE with the comedian FRANCO PENNASILICO, in 1996 with his band he opened some concerts of RUBERTO MUROLO, A.MINGHI, F.FASANO and he performed at the Mercadante Theatre in Naples with the G. Anepeta Orchestra and in 2004 on the stage of the MAURIZIO COSTANZO SHOW and DOMENICA IN.
He won the critics award at the S. Giuseppe Vesuviano Festival, jury GIGI D’ALESSIO.
In the past years the band took part in the SANREMO academy finishing in the first three.
The Videoclip “Bacchetta Magica” was published on qoob.tv with the other song of the album “Assolutamente” and the video is on line on the international web site Myspace.
It includes 8 unpublished songs and the very fast guitar of ANTONIO ONORATO.
The Afro Tribe finished in the final of the “PRIMO MAGGIO” IN ROME among 2800 competitors, finishing first in Campania with the single “BACCHETTA MAGICA” (till on April the 18th it was possible to vote on the web site www.kataweb.it, in the page “Music” on the right and in the page “PRIMO MAGGIO 2007”).
During the 2007 tour the band decided to give life to a project which is still secret and to be defined that will include a cover of a song by Enzo Gragnaniello-Mia Martini.
INTERVIEW TO THE BAND:
Gio’ DeiNoster, how would you define your music style?
Our music is pop and elegant at the meantime. In the album “Bacchetta magica” behind the denunciation and objections there are always important feelings.
How do you feel when you perform in your town?
It is always very exciting performing in your own town and I am glad of the welcome and the warmth we are receiving from our many fans.
We have had the opportunity to let our music be listened in the occasion of one of the most important sport events of our town, the Ciclolonga, and during the Festa della Speranza. We need the support and the warmth of the people who listen to our music.
Future plans?
We have a very important plan. We hope that it will fascinate all of you.
We will give life to a new album, “E’ SOLO L’INIZIO”, of which a single, ‘A SFUGATA, has already come out.
