12 Step Music Fest is a campout for ALL 12 step fellowships. It will be held November 6-9 2008 at Sugarloaf Key(mile marker 20, 20 miles from Key West) KOA In the Florida Keys. The entire campground will be closed to the public. It's a mini Woodstock, minus the drugs and alcohol, but add meetings and fellowship!! It is being put on by No Matter What Productions Inc, a not for profit 501 c 3 corporation whos mission is to promote clean and sober fun, music and unity amongst fellowships
We are looking for bands, duos and solo acts. At least 1 of the musicians must be in recovery, and play original music as well as covers. Recovery based songs are great, but not necessary. Currently we are not able to pay bands, but we will allow free camping, as well as a chance to sell any of your merchandise throughout the weekend, and promote you on all our websites and flyers, along with your band website and info.
There will be a 24 hour marathon tent for AA meetings, a 24 hour marathon tent for NA meetings, and a 3rd tent available 24 hours for sign up for other fellowships and special interest meetings. There will be a childrens tent with crafts and activities all day as well. The KOA has a beach and volleyball, pool and hottub, as well as showers and bathrooms. Food and recovery merchandise vendors will be on site as well. There will be 2 main recovery speakers, 1 on Friday night and 1 on Saturday night. We will have over 7 bands playing on the main stage throughout the weekend. Please check back regularly as we begin to add bands to the lineup. A talent show for charity will be held on the main stage Saturday, all slots for talent show will be by lottery and sign up will be online with ticket sales. All the alcohol will be removed from the pub, and it will be used as a second stage for solo acts all day and night.
