After Silence is a non-profit organization, online support group, and chat room created to help survivors communicate in the recovery of rape and sexual abuse. Our mission is to support, empower, validate and educate survivors of rape and sexual abuse, as well as secondary survivors. The core of our organization is a message board and a chat room where survivors meet together in a mutually supportive and safe environment.

~Widowed~	Apr 6 2009 7:46 PM Sometimes when my life is going magnificently well, I get anxious, wondering if something bad is going to happen to take it all away. I know that anxiety is fear and not trusting myself, so I just recognize it as the part that is used to my being upset about something, thank it for sharing and let it go. When I become frightened my adrenalin pumps up to protect me from danger. I say to the fear: I appreciate that you want to help me. Then I do an affirmation about that particular fear. Gina	Mar 1 2009 5:54 PM I applaud mothers who care enough to want to join a support group. When i was 3 my brother raped me. Im not even sure if thats what its called. He was never convicted and i lived with him til the day my mother died when i was 11 almost 12 and i never understood why she never kicked him out. I ...now a mother myself... still dont understand and would hope that maybe i can talk to another mother who was in my mother's situation and maybe get somewhat of an understanding.

jadee	Dec 31 2008 7:26 AM I applaud all of you for your efforts to heal. You all deserve to be whole, and you are; except for these evil bastards who violated you. I think the best revenge, outside of castrating, blinding, and a complete C5 fracture to their spinal cord, would be for you to live, love and laugh as if they never existed. That may seem like cruel and unusual punishment... but wait, what did they do again...? You see I am a parent of a victim. Though I pray for the same for my child, to live, love, laugh and overcome, I also torment... As a parent, of a child who was raped, I wonder, do any of you know of a support group for us parents who are devastated, and convicted, that we as a people, who are supposedly against child rape and rape in all forms have lived our lives happily ignoring this horrible crime? I need to speak with other parents, not the losers who did not believe their precious children, but like me... who had my precious children in hopes of maybe making this world a better place. I knew it was better for me as soon as they were born... I did not have my precious children for some f@#k%^g, f@gg$t bastard reprobate pervert to relieve himself at the expense, screams and pain of my child. I would suffer myself rather than my child... but I can not. My child said they would "rather die than go through that again..." This crime is evil on so many levels... I wish I could kill him so I could be sure he would NEVER do it again to anyone. Not vengeance, just the absolute assurance that he would never again commit a crime I believe, does not deserve a second chance. Maybe a few years on death row to face and repent from what they did, but never to be a free citizen ever again. But I will never know who it was; my childs memory is blocked and any memories would be unreliable now... Its been over a year since I found out. I needed to share some of my not fully formed feelings to ask for your help. Thanks, and Gods peace and wholeness to us all.
