About AFTERDARK RECORDS

AFTERDARK RECORDS was created in 2007 as a small record store by the team at The Afterdark in Northcote as a way for bands playing shows there to stock their releases on a permanent basis. In August 2007 the same guys took over The Old Bar in Fitzroy. They then decided to move the store there, making it larger than before and stocking releases from all over Australia.

A decision was made not long after the move to begin signing bands and turning Afterdark Records into a label. Despite the focus being shifted heavily into this direction, the record store still exists within The Old Bar for Australian independent bands and artists to stock their releases and merch at will.

Now with nine albums released and a distribution deal with Missing Link Records, things are heading in the right direction.
