Band MembersJohnny Philips played with The Side in the 80's and later with Low Profile. He has been playing music for over thirty years. He has been featured on TV in europe while with Low Profile, having done radio and television appearances as well as two featured music videos performing "Is it you" and "Only to Find". After some time off from performing and recording, he was introduced to Tony Scalera and so it began...again........ Tony "Thunderstix" Scalera played with The Bar Flies for many years. Before The Barflys he was with Yvonne and the Boys band (Blues) for several years and played throughout the early 80's with the Poprods. He also appeared on the Cosby Show and Tony studied drums with the same teacher as Max Weinberg in Maplewood, NJ. After moving to Northern NJ he began looking for a new project. After hearing a CD of Johnny Philips, who became aware of Tony's interest to start a band in NNJ, the two met and a nameless band was born later to become After Dark....... "Lightening" Rob Watts is a classically trained pianist who has a penchant for modern country music as well as pop artists such as Journey, Billy Joel and Elton John and many more. His font of musical knowledge and the variety of his interests allow him to bring any number of varying dynamics to the music we play. Veteran bass player John "Johnny the K" Kraus. John has a varied musical background which includes classic rock bands, blues bands, top 40 bands, as well as pit orchestra work for musical theatre around the Tri State Area. John has most recently played bass with "Gentleman Jack and the Blues Attack" and appeared live on the Jay Wolf show on WNNJ 103.7 radio. Other bands on his resume include "Quatro", "Back Exit", and the 90's punk band "No Turns" Dave Gellis has been playing lead guitar for Blood Sweat & Tears since 1985. During several hiatuses, he has toured and/or recorded with Meat Loaf, Stanley Clarke, Chuck Negron (of Three Dog Night), Phoebe Snow, David Clayton-Thomas, Pieces of a Dream, Roger Glover (of Deep Purple), Dave Valentin, Angela Bofill and many others. This includes numerous television appearances as well as touring throughout the Far East, Europe, Australia and nearly 50 states. He is the featured soloist on Roger Glover's 1984 release, "Mask". After Dark is proud and excited to feature Dave as our lead guitarist. Dave lives in northern NJ with his wife, Dana and their 2 daughters and 4 cats. Not everyone is aware that underneath his clothes, he's completely naked.

   About After Dark
After Dark is a classic Rock and Roll band performing songs from the 60's, 70's, 80's , 90's and beyond. The band started with Tony "Thunderstix" Scalera (The Bar Flies) and Johnny Philips (Low Profile) who wanted to form a group that would perform classic rock and roll but with a different twist. To this end, the group is formed out of musicians with very diversified backgounds and interests. Tony sings harmony to Johnny's lead vocals. Add the talent and musicianship of "Lightning" Rob Watts ..s, harmonica and vocals, classically trained, with a slant toward modern country, and you have the fusion of Oldies, Classics, Hard Rock/Metal and Modern Country. Helping to keep the rhythm section tight is veteran bass player John "Johnny the K" Kraus. Other bands on his resume include "Quatro", "Back Exit", and the 90's punk band "No Turns" Together they perform an eclectic array of selections from The Drifters to Led Zepllin.Dave Gellis has been playing lead guitar for Blood Sweat & Tears since 1985. During several hiatuses, he has toured and/or recorded with Meat Loaf, Stanley Clarke, Chuck Negron (of Three Dog Night), Phoebe Snow, David Clayton-Thomas, Pieces of a Dream, Roger Glover (of Deep Purple), Dave Valentin, Angela Bofill and many others
