Welcome to "Afterglow Photography" - a photographic journey by Amy Skinder.I'm a self taught experimental photographer who aims to convey my perceptions and unique view of my subject whilst capturing the soul and energy of what I am photographing. My work has been described by others as real , intimate , unique and vivid. I specialize in music , macro and portrait photography .
Along the way i have been lucky enough to photograph some of my favourite musicians who have displayed my work on their myspace and websites. Some of these include : John Butler trio , Xavier Rudd , Seasick Steve , Ash Grunwald , Jeff Lang , Dallas Frasca , Blue King Brown , Dan Sultan , Mamie Minch , The Crooks , Jay Howie , and Shaun kirk. My highlight in 2008 was photographing The Black Keys at the Palace.
My biggest achievement so far is having a photo i took of Seasick Steve at the Point Neapean Blues festvial published on the front cover of Pollstar magazine , I also got to meet him and had my magazine and photos personally signed backstage. Dallas Frasca also used one of my photographs on the back of her cd single "Strong Man " featuring Xavier Rudd. I have a strong passion for capturing a live performance this shows in my work as i photograph artists that i admire and enjoy their music. Thanks for looking and i hope you enjoy my photos.
