BIO:
Aftermath ruptured onto the scene in 2001. Founded by vocalist Chris Mathews, and guitarist Tim Lessard, playing songs by old heavy metal warhorses such as Ozzy Osbourne, Alice in Chains and Metallica. The band used these influences in their early compositions.
Aftermath became known for their double guitar leads and harmonies strengthening their appeal with the audience. Jay Hodson brings his aggressive hard hitting energetic drumming style to the table, combining with Bassist Craig Ross to give Aftermath a strong back bone. Their debut E.P. entitled “Firebringer” was a raw production that saw the band shape their sound.
To Aftermath nothing is as important as the music they write and the fans that support them. Reinventing a classic sound with a modern direction, Aftermath is gaining momentum with every show, bringing hope to many, thirsting for blazing guitar solos, melodic harmonies, earth pounding drums and a front man whom will deliver a show each and every time.
Aftermath won the Metal Queen Management/Paragon Metal Band Competition held in Toronto on January 18, 2008. The competition was judged by Eric Alper of Koch Entertainment, Aaron Small of Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles/Metal Maniacs and Richard Tanana of Caustic Truths/Heavy Metal Music Biz.
The band's latest CD entitled “Afraid”, which will be released in March of 2008, blends passionate vocals with gnashing drums to forge a disc overflowing with pulse-pounding scorching solos, adding vocal harmonies to their repertoire. With standout tracks like "Blood Uncle”, “This Is Our life” and “Just Another Kill," the music of Aftermath progresses to no end and appeals to metal fans and non-metal fans alike.
Aftermath is the reason true old school metal will never die! Remaining true to their roots and evolving their music to create their own distinct sound, Aftermath is a hard hitting heavy weight that never stops! To see Aftermath live you will notice two things, these guys will never quit, even when you are gasping for a new breath of air they are quickly slamming you with another tune keeping you hooked to their raw energy and awe inspiring music. Secondly, they truly and deeply care about their fans and commitment to the music and unity amongst their fans. You will never see a fan left out or feeling down after watching Aftermath live, they feed off their fans energy and return it ten fold!
