All styles of hard rock, metal, melodic metal and power metal - past and present! Or, as we like to say:
"ALL THINGS METAL!"
Sounds Like
Dio, Judas Priest, Dokken, Savatage, Accept, Ratt, Deep Purple, UFO, Michael Schenker, Scorpions, Yngwie Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, Rainbow, Loudness, Racer X, etc.- you get the idea!
Aftershok is a four-piece classic metal band that showcases aggressive guitars and powerful, melodic vocals. Their sound is firmly grounded in the best traditions of classic metal and hard rock, but through their commitment to strong songwriting and musicianship they have forged a style that is all their own.
Aftershok began in the summer of 1996 as a collaboration between vocalist Vic Hix and guitarist George Mihalovich. Vic and George M quickly realized that they shared the same vision for a classic metal/melodic hard rock band, and made the decision to concentrate on developing the project until they found just the right individuals to solidify the line-up. Fast-forward a few years; veteran drummer George B. came aboard in late 1999, and bassist Nick G. joined in early 2000. The band was complete, and after months of intense rehearsal, Aftershok began to perform in late 2000.
Throughout 2001 and early 2002, the band began recording as they continued to hone their material through live performances. In April 2002, Aftershok celebrated the international release of their independent debut CD, Unfinished Business, and in January 2005 the band followed it with their second full-length CD, Burning Chrome (Auburn Records). As a result, Aftershok has been reviewed/featured in esteemed international metal publications and websites such as Heavy, Oder Was!?, Metal Hammer and Rock Hard (Germany); Burrn! (Japan); Heavy Metal Pages (Poland); MetalZone, Forgotten Scroll and Metal Hammer (Greece); Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles and MetalRules (Canada); and Hard Radio, Metal Maniacs, MetalReviews, The Harder Beat and Pittriff (U.S.).
Since their first live appearance at Cleveland, OH's famed Odeon Concert Club on November 25, 2000, Aftershok has performed with many noted international recording artists, including: Judas Priest, Ratt, Yngwie Malmsteen, Savatage, Nevermore, Y&T, Kip Winger, Firehouse, Warrant, Lizzy Borden, Seven Witches, Britny Fox and Doro Pesch. Aftershok also supported Skid Row/Vince Neil/Poison and Motorhead/Dio/Iron Maiden on the Pittsburgh, PA dates of their respective 2003 summer tours.
Aftershok is currently recording their third CD for a 2010 release.
Details forthcoming!
A lot of snow here. If you start recording now, it will probably be in an Igloo. I think we should sell our cars for snowmobiles and make a cold weather Hell's Angels. Or like the River Bottom Nightmare Band in Emmit Otter's Jugband Christmas. You in?
First you must master the Dragon in order to slay the bass! Just tightening up my bass playing a bit. Learning how to slap on the A instead of just the E. And all kinds of other stuff that takes 5 minutes to learn, but I haven't bothered. haha I love my bass. After the electronic drums, I am definitely getting a little bass amp. I play through headphones on the Line 6 thing on the pc. But I need an amp.
See, that is just inaccurate. Shopping at Guitar Gallery for 25 years is like going into a pack of wolves with a live Sheep tied to your back. You must be on the defensive at all times. So it's not fair to judge! hahaha However, if you ask the ladies on here, they will tell you, that underneath all the Monster Riffs, Dragon Arpeggios, Hot Chops and Wicked Licks and Whammy Abuse... Lies a caring individual. I am sorry that you can't see that in me George. HAHA! Happy New Year! P.S. When is my bass audition for DragonShok? lol
you are

Merry Christmas! And here is to a 2010 filled with new music from The Shok and the Dragon as well. Hey, if you can't find anyone, I will join on bass. But only if we call it DragonShok. haha Have a good one President George M. Jackson!
Yo. The surgery was 12 hours on Monday. He came home Thursday. Just resting for awhile. Ahead of schedule so far. Should be 95% in 6 weeks. Have a good weekend. Peace. -Tony
Hey guys, I just saw on Overkill's site that Ronnie James Dio canceled all his shows and is going through treatment for stomach cancer. It says on the Dio myspace that it is in the early stages. I know you are a fan so wanted to let you know. Have a happy and safe holiday. Peace.
