Newsflash! The time has come. What Love Is - The EP. Now available for *free* download. We hope that you enjoy the musical offerings of our labor of love. Happy New Year from AfterSix Productions, All the best! What Love Is - The EP After Six Productions Inc. is, first, two musicians who have come together to record and produce music for ourselves. Combined, we have over 40 years of playing and writing experience. We are also a new company, based in the Washington, DC metro area, that strives to record and produce music that is never under the constraint of the typical vehicles of commercial music industry practices. We are a small, outfit operating out of two home studios, both running Logic Pro 8, and hope to one day offer recording and production services in a larger environment conducive to creativity and freedom... The mid-80's saw the birth of After Six...(yes, we were formed just a few months before After 7 came out) and submission of a demo to Solar Records, who acknowledged some interest. We then parted separate ways due to pursuit of careers outside of music, etc. Fast forward to 2002, after the development of two home studios, and the relocation of both of us to the Washington, DC metro area, the idea was to form After Six Productions, whose first studio project was a remix of a song called "It Takes Two", for Connecticut-based artist, Shadiyah. The success of the debut single caused us to formerly pursue a writing/performing/production role...and here we are... We hope to release our debut compilation EP, "What Love Is" towards the end of 2010 (long time coming, we KNOW!). All the vocalists featured, with the exception of one, are from the Washington, DC metro area. In the meantime, we hope u enjoy a few rough mixes of what will be on the EP... A little about the tracks: .."..Marry Me.." - "We've all heard love songs throughout the ages, but I wanted to write a song about one of the most important questions to be asked, but reflect it in the coolest, un-usual (never been done before) way I could, hence the groove for "Marry Me" was born" - Doug .. .."..What Love Is.." - I wanted to try to answer that question in song, the emotional struggle of staying or leaving in it many facets ....the question is often asked, and all the tracks on the CD provide various answers to that question" - Dan.. .."..The Groove Of Jillian Reed.." - "She's out there....somewhere....we're sure....I wrote for her" - Dan.. Shouts to:.. .. Kevin Dickinson of Kevin Dickinson Photography.. for the image creation..... .. Models Courtney Neal of Model Mayhem, and "Miss A6P" for manifesting the concept real lovely..... .. The vocalists - You kick the lyrical style!.. .. The fans!.. We hope that what we bring you now, and in the future, remains fresh and enjoyable. Peace..... Musically Yours...... A6P .. ..
