After The Fire is a CD that has been put together by Peter Frawley, Darren Danielson and Zoran Romic. The sole purpose of the CD is to raise as much money possible for the survivors of Victoria’s recent bushfire tragedy.

All money raised from the sale of After The Fire will go to the St Vincent De Paul Society of Victoria’s Bushfire survivor’s relief fund.

So many Australians have been so generous to date donating over 250 million dollars to the cause. We hope we can add to that tally and raise just a little bit more. Think of it like this, purchasing this CD is a donation and for that donation you’ll receive the After The Fire CD as a gift.

The concept behind After The Fire was to throw the doors of Salt Studios in Melbourne open for a few days to record a compilation album that had an organic and acoustic feel. Each artist was allocated an hour in the studio to perform their track. Most of the takes you hear in After The Fire are either the first or second take. Many of the artists wrote their song especially for the album. Some artists only finished penning their tune just minutes before performing it. Other artists were interstate and could not attend the studio to record. They recorded elsewhere and submitted their track to be added to the CD.

Ausmusic kindly donated the services of a film crew to capture and edit footage to create the short documentary for you to see the making of After The Fire.

Kane/Welch/Kaplin’s “Marysville” and Dale Ryder’s beautiful “Mercy and Plenty” set the tone of the album from the start.

We got to witness some amazing performances through out the making of this album including the wonderful Renee Geyer. Renee stepped up to the mic and gave her all and left us with a performance that goes down as one of her finest.

Katie Underwood shows us her versatility by recording a Jazz based track “Every Moment”. This track truly captures Katie’s amazing vocal talent.

Brian Mannix chipped in with a wonderful song “All I Know”, penned moments before performing it.

Sean Kelly was the first artist to kick the project off and gave us the reggae inspired “Cool Breeze”. After The Fire also sees Adam and Zoran reform Chocolate Starfish for an hour to lay down an amazing performance of “Sign Of Victory”. One of the biggest stories in After The Fire is its least known artist Ross Buchanan. Ross is a survivor of the King Lake fires and was asked if he’d like to perform his track written just after the tragedy “Salty Tears”. Ross possesses the true spirit of the bushfire survivors and of the Australian people in general.

We’d like to dedicate this album to Ross and his family.
