This is what the world needs - honest, organic, natural collaborations where heart meets sound. 'DELIGHTFUL, ROBUST, STRONG, and a host of other adjectives I'd ascribe to this beautiful release. It is a powerful moment to surrender to what the music wants [to be].
Creative group of musicians with a distinct Fula sound and European twist! A scintillating global sound – fresh, dynamic, and a spirited love of playing.
Having emerged out of the 'Music World: Series - 'A Fula’s Call' subsequently hit the road with wheels spinning on tours in Holland, Ukraine, Moldavia, Bulgaria and Russia, followed soon after by the CD release of: Mark Lotz Meets Omar Ka, LIINGU.
Omar Ka with roots in the Niger and flutist Mark Alban Lotz form the pounding hart of 'A Fula's Call' that includes Raphael Vanoli (guitar) and Afra Mussawisade (percussion), sometimes extended with a bass player.
A global collective which matches Fulani vocals with jazz virtuosity, electronic sound scapes and World Grooves. Eurafrican music with an itching global touch, a spiritual crossover.
2010 sees a spectacular collaboration of the Euregion Brass, Wind and Percussion Orchestra with A Fula's Call!
