KRAFTY KUTS:
Krafty Kuts is resident DJ at SuperCharged and when he's not touring the world he can be found spinning the latest tunes on a Wednesday at Audio in Brighton. Krafty Kuts 'Freakshow' album was recently released to critical aclaim, scooping 'BEST ALBUM' at the 2007 Breakspoll Awards and 'ALBUM OF THE MONTH' in DJ magazine. From the dripping acid strut of the album’s first single ‘Bass Phenomenon’, to the ‘slap the cheeks and ride the waves’ booty bass of ‘There They Go’ - ‘Freakshow’ is a gumbo of musical styles. ‘Keep Moving’ mixes Yolanda’s epic choral laments with a bassline reminiscent of Adam F’s ‘Smash Sumthin’, ‘Tell Me How You Feel’ is a summer smash from the bars to the beaches, while ‘Freakshow’ sounds like Prince making love to a vocoder and ‘We Do This’ has the sort of grimey, pig-sty bassline, that’ll leave head-nodders with whiplash.
FREESTYLERS:
Another huge project for Against The Grain has been the release of the Freestylers forth artist album 'Adventures In Freestyle' which saw the breakbeat superstars team up with Pendulum to produce "Painkiller", one of the biggest tunes in dance music during 2006. However, those expecting an album of straight up breaks may be in for a surprise, as ‘Adventures…’ packs its compass and Kendall Mint Cake and takes the listener on a trip spanning soul, hip hop, funk, disco and even rock!

SPLITLOOP 'PLEASURE MACHINE':
Splitloop are back with a killer new album 'Pleasure Machine' which is out now. Dipping their toes into numerous styles of electronic music has certainly paid off for the guys. 'Pleasure Machine' has a velvety sheen, touching on modern sexy D. Ramirez-type electro-house, juddery Justice riddims, old skool electro, Plumpy breaks and a hell of a lot more. There's a consistency to their sound that glazes the whole album - sexy electronic dance music that'll be rocking floors from Brighton to Beijing, quite simply 'Pleasure Machine' is bang on the money. Accumulating all the tools to soundtrack a fantastic night out, the Splitloop guys have set the dials for pleasure. The touring that's going to be accompanying this album is going to bring them into contact with a whole new set of pleasure-seeking individuals. Splitloop are philosophical about their early career. "Our first studio had a broken toilet, so everything smelled like piss," they remember. "We could never afford monitors 'cos all our money went on pills and beer. As soon as we gave up pills, we bought monitors and got signed."
"The groove of Simian Mobile Disco or The Plump DJs...the soundtrack the summer” 5/5 – Album Of The Month – DJ Mag
“This is the act I am putting my money on for the near future.”
– Annie Nightingale, BBC Radio 1
“These guys are set to blow up”
– Plump DJ’s on Radio One

DEEKLINE & WIZARD "BACK UP, COMING THROUGH" OUT NOW!!
“Unparalleled speaker-smashing, arse-wiggling perfection, that sets them apart from almost any other underground act”. DJ Magazine - Album Of The Month *****
Deekline & Wizard have always been ambassadors for a strong vocal and their new album is loaded with star turns amassed on their travels. A trip to North America unearthed Florida’s red hot, eccentric, hip hop, duo Yo! Majesty whose vocals add a hint of salt ‘n’ pepper on ‘Show Me What You Do’. In Detroit they worked with ghetto tech pioneer DJ Assault who adds his baritone twang to the minimalistic, A-Town sound and club anthems of ‘One In The Front’ and ‘Keep It Pushing’ (also featuring Freq Nasty). Whilst Canadian chart topper MC Flipside added his party starting, hip hop vocals to the gigantic ‘Handz Up’ club hit, which features the mighty Stanton Warriors on remix duties. And we’ve only just got started.
Searching for the perfect beat, the pair continued to criss-cross the globe seeking out high end talent to grace their new album. Classical string arranger extraordinaire Andronia Popova from Bulgaria provided a depth of listening on singles ‘Angels’ and ‘Dancehall Thrilla’, two cuts that perhaps best showcase the increased musicality Deekline & Wizard’s new productions offer. In addition, the latter track brought the boys full circle and back to London where they hooked up with the achingly cool Hadouken, MC Navigator, Top Cat, Fallacy, Yolanda (Bugz In The Attic) and even some gospel vocalists. There’s never been any doubt that the Deekline & Wizard pairing can produce consistently exciting club smashes, but on ‘Back Up, Coming Through’ the pair have produced hook heavy joints set to take them to kitchen radios and car stereos around the country.
