The Against Malaria Foundation is an organization dedicated to empowering ordinary citizens to take responsibility for eradicating Malaria - a disease that causes 3 million preventable deaths a year.
Malaria, unlike many other health issues which affect the developing world, is relatively easy to fix. Yet despite this the governments of the world have not been able to marshal the necessary resources and support. That is why we believe it is necessary to step in where governments have failed.

MALARIA FACTS:
- Malaria kills 1-3 million people annually.
- Deaths predominantly occur in children under five years of age and pregnant women.
- Approximately 90% of deaths occur in Africa.
- 40% of the worlds population (in more than 100 countries) are at risk every day of getting sick with malaria.
- 500 million people per year get malaria. When people are sick with malaria they have a hard time working and drag down their caregivers/family members.
SUPPORT BURMA's NARGIS VICTIMS
Even before the cyclone, the World Health Organization warned that "malaria is a re-emerging public health problem" in Burma and it is now exacerbated by widespread flooding, the perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Some officials are warning that the disease may end up killing as many as the cyclone if additional more help doesn't arrive soon.
