   About Agalloch
Photobucket

This is the official Agalloch MySpace page

Despite their style being firmly grounded in the dark metal genre, Agalloch has always been a band who prefers experimentation over settling on a niche. The result has been three full-lengths and a handful of EPs that have bridged the gap between gothic doom, black metal, neo-folk, post rock, and industrial/ambient soundscapes. The band has earned a rabid cult following over the years due in part to their artistic & independent attitude, elusive aura, and scarce but volatile live performances.

Four years after their critically acclaimed sophomore effort "The Mantle", Agalloch delivers their new album, "Ashes Against The Grain". Always progressing, but never losing touch with their dark metal roots, the band's third album unites elements of black metal, Scandinavian prog, and post-rock with the band's signature brooding style.

Agalloch hails from Portland, Oregon - in the heart of the Pacific Northwest.

I hope you guys come somewhere close to Central IL this year. Your magnificent pieces are what would happen if my more sorrow filled part of my soul connected with the Mother Gaia loving part..made love..and then had a child whom weeps and rages upon seeing the more cruel, insipid, and disgraceful ways of mankind!

Read the interview, I was surprised the Portland show was mentioned as being a downer. I've been to a lot of shows and that one is still way up on my list and I'm definitely looking forward to the next time you guys play in town. It was disappointing that the other band cut into your time though, but as far as your guys playing it was great.

Just read the Pre-Romania interview, and I totally agree with your quote "quality over quantity." I love each and every album because they are so well put together.. Who needs Ok albums vs masterpieces? As always, much love & respect from Texas. And best of luck on the new album (can't wait!) & the up and coming gigs!

Thank you for adding me as your friend. Believe me, I simply am crazy for your genre... is pure art...
Why you never put Portugal in your route? You conquered the lusitanian crowd with your music, believe me! Today you're perhaps the most brilliant band distribute sound, Soul through imagery and lyrical ... chilling.

Where I live, sure was good for you inspire... Trees, peace on Nature, extensive forests, and a spectacular river called Rio Minho, and a village, in a Valley with a indescribable panorama, simply beautiful: Vila Nova de Cerveira.

I look forward to a new opus. Have good job.
Once again, thank you.
Stay exactly as you are: heavy! \m/

I am a true diehard Agalloch fan! I'm getting "the god of man is a failure, and all of our shadows are ashes against the grain" tattoed across my shoulders on my birthday :D
