AC/DC, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis, Johnny Cash, Jeff Buckley, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, The Band, Bob Marley, Prince, Paul Weller, Ray Charles, Ryan Adams, Tom Waits, The Beatles, Hank Williams to name but a few ...

Anthony Burgess, Arthur C. Clarke, Charles Bukowski, Jack Kerouac, Orson Wells, George Orwell, too many to mention!

Sounds Like

"This ain't no maudlin nu-hippie schlock. 'Standing in the darkness' is an exciting, highly charged, Stevie Ray Vaughan like Blues number, complete with a dirty Sabbath-style riff underlying Gibney's raw, soulful vocal. Great stuff" - Stephen Errity Hotpress ...

"Anthony Gibney seems hellbent ondispelling the notion that singer-songwriters only do introspective pieces with acoustic guitars. 'Standing in the darkness' is a tough pop track with a catchy chorus, electric guitar riffs and a tight rythm section. " -Jackie Hayden Hotpress...

"Standing in the darkness” has all the flavors of your pissed up funk rock melodic tune it kicks in with a wicked thumping guitar grooves and smoothes out with a catchy chorus…excellent stuff. " - T.Halpin MusicReview...

"Handling most of the instruments duties himself, on 'ritual' Gibney delivers a brooding song with his soulful voice and chantlike harmonies in a full-on arrangement. It also has fine guitar work. Gibney shapes up like he means business and could be one to watch out for out there." -Jackie Hayden, Hotpress March 2006...

"...I'm totally committed to the excellent sound of Anthonys expressive voice and lyrics. Each song is perfectly constructed, as all of Anthonys work is clearly progressive material. " -Samantha Kim, Regatta July 2006 ...

"...There is genuine warmth of feeling combined with a musical dexterity that is missing from most of his song-writing contemporaries." Steve Egan, Musician June 2006...
