We’ll let these likeable old guys sell themselves for you: “We're The Aging Youth Gang! We are out of Vancouver B.C. and have been around since 1991. We formed after the demise of a band called The Spores. This band was around from 1983 until 1989. The Spores were a fairly prolific band around the Vancouver scene during that period. They produced one album, two singles, a tape, and two videos. They played with such bands as D.O.A, Death Sentence, and No Means No, and opened for the Butthole Surfers. The singer became too busy with making films and so the guitarists and the drummer decided to continue on. We asked the singer of the recently defunct Curious George if he would be interested in joining us and he agreed. Thus Aging Youth Gang was born out of the ashes of two popular Vancouver punk bands. Our taste in music leans mostly to old school punk having grown up and being influenced by such bands as The Buzzcocks, The Stranglers, The Damned, and The Sex Pistols. This would typify our sound if one were to try and put some sort of classification on our style. We prefer to think of ourselves as a high energy, fun and melodic punk type band. The Mohawks and Maalox CD was recorded at Profile Sound Studio where D.O.A and No Means No have recorded. It was recorded by Brian Who Else who has recorded many Vancouver bands also including D.O.A and No Means No.”
