"If you could touch the alien sand & hear the cries of strange birds & watch them wheel in another sky - Would that satisfy you?" Doctor Who

"Almost too sad for words, reaching a place only the likes of Talk Talk have found before."
Mark Coyle, Harvest Home
"Sacred chants and echoes of John Jacob Niles ghostly wafting across the waters, folk music blurs with droning psychedelic haze in a timeless place just outside of the world. Otherly and divinely inspired, locked in a sacred holy groove of egoless spiritual awakening and humbleness before the infinite quiet." Dream Magazine
"...echoing the elemental mystery of the landscape and the autumnal chill his melancholic music creates...Colohan's guitar wraps itself around drifting layers of drone like smoke. The songs are gloriously melancholic with shades of David Ackles in his world-weary tones but in a more folky context." Boa Melody Bar
"His works as Agitated Radio Pilot are timeless psychedelic folk evocations that could be just as easily be compared to Townes Van Zandt as Current 93. We're talking deeply moving stuff here that comes from a place where ego and pretension are mostly left behind. Many, many artists come to mind, yet Colohan has such a striking and personal vision that there's really no point in naming names." Kevin Moist, Deep Water Acres
"The tag 'loner folk' has been thrown around when discussing a lot of Colohan's back catalogue but there doesn't seem to be very much self indulgence here, even though many of the tracks are deeply personal. Instead Colohan seems to have a preternatural sense of the elemental, those dark places we all go to take off our disguises. So many artists have treaded this ground before and seemed insincere, but Colohan's vulnerability, his human voice that presents these unadorned truths without spin or motive, makes me want to listen and believe."

Since his first early 90s stirrings in the cassette underground, Agitated Radio Pilot has charted a personal vision of folk which happily bleeds in influences from improvisation, blues, psychedelia, country & minimalism. Touring sporadically, ARP has played alongside such acts as The Mountain Goats, Johnny Moynihan, Dr Strangely Strange, Charalambides, Josephine Foster, Andy Irvine, Audrey Ryan, Jack Rose, Sunroof!, Fursaxa & Sharron Kraus. Having released a raft of tapes, cdrs & lathe cuts over the years, his most recent releases are the double albums 'World Winding Down' on Deadslackstring in Northern Ireland & 'The Rural Arcane' on Deep Water Sonic Productions in Pennsylvania. Work is nearing completion on a new album & an EP called 'A Field Day' will appear on Rusted Rail in the Autumn.
I've found great inspiration in your deep and soulful music...I was lucky to find a review on italian magazine Blow Up, now I consider myself a true fan of ARP

"It jumps around a lot. That's what it's about, in a way. You know what I mean? You start to see everything from the point of view of the father. And, uh, a lot of other things happen-parallel narratives. It's kind of a mess. And then, eventually, the whole thing sort of evolves, uh, or devolves … into this sort of Robbe-Grillet mystery, you know? But no real resolution."
"I was set free! I dissolved in the sea, became white sails and flying spray, became beauty and rhythm, became moonlight and the ship and the high dim-starred sky."
I'm fine thank you so much for asking! You're still sounding more magnificent with each new song. Your album is very popular here in Cornwall, I have forwarded some of your tracks to our local arts radio station, (the source), will let you know how that goes. I think I have an interview coming up there sometime so will be sure to play one of your songs on the show :)
Probably completely unrelated to your themes, but On Montauk Point by Agitated Radio Pilot brings to mind the so called myths about BNL ala the Montauk project. Cool tunes besides of course...
Have fun playing there, and let us know when you'll be coming around. I saw the festival has been confirmed for May 23rd, so that's jotted down :-) Cheers!
