I come from Poland and live in Finland. I make music, and here is how it all started: I always had music in my head, songs, melodies kept making themselves, and I thought everyone was like that, and it wasn't so long ago when I discovered it was not so. It was quite a shock. I learnt to play the guitar at 13 and started writing some songs down. First I just made some songs and played them on my guitar in pubs and for friends whenever I had time, but it was not enough. In autumn 2008. I recorded some songs at home, playing all the instruments and trying to paint the songs the way I heard them in my head. Then I put them up online for the first time.

In February 2011, thanks to many wonderful, generous people I raised 40 000 € for my debut album on the website Sellaband.com. The album has already been mostly recorded!!! (YES) - and we have started the mixing. I can't wait for it to be ready. Really. I'm so impatient it hurts.

This is the band that I have invited to play on my album. An awesome Polish folk band, you should really check them out, even if you (think you) are not really into folk music. They are called Saint Nicholas Orchestra and here is their website: http://www.mikolaje.lublin.pl/

I like it when an artist makes original music. Sadly, the music of most artists who try to be original is not nice to listen to any more. Catself has the ability to make music that is both very original and nice to listen to. That was my first thought when I listened to her music for the first time and I still love listening to it months later. The lyrics are also original but what is the most important for me is Catself's original and catchy melodies, arrangements and voice. Influences:

Fairytales, vampires, witches, the snow, the Moon and the stars, cats, butterflies, some great books, some great movies, probably some great music: I guess folk, classical and progressive rock; Finnish forests, Polish food, the sea, lakes, rivers, mountains, thick bushes and wide open spaces, strawberries and raspberries at Pitkänen farm in Rääkkylä, all my great friends, God and many other things I forgot.
