Catself composes music, writes the lyrics and records it, playing all the instruments, entirely by Catself. When playing live, sometimes she is joined by other musicians, depending on who is around.

Influences
Fairytales, vampires, witches, the snow, the Moon and the stars, cats, butterflies, some great books, some great movies, probably some great music: I guess folk, classical and progressive rock; Finnish forests, Polish food, the sea, lakes, rivers, mountains, thick bushes and wide open spaces, strawberries and raspberries at Pitkänen farm in Rääkkylä, all my great friends and many other things I forgot.
I come from Poland, live in Finland. I have travelled to other places in the meantime and music followed me wherever I went.
In autumn 2008, I decided to become serious about my music. I had written songs and played in pubs and for friends for quite some time but it was not enough. So I decided it was time to put all my energy into music.
I made the first proper recordings of my songs, by myself, in a home studio, playing all the instruments (some from synths). I put my songs up on SellaBand.com, a music site where fans can help artists collect funds for a professional album. The support and interest of my new fans there, some of whom are music professionals, convinced me further that I made the right decision and that yes, it made sense to be serious about what I really love and want to do instead of later regretting that I lacked the courage to go for it.
More good things have happened since then. My songs have got airplay on a few radio stations on four continents; I was invited to do some great gigs, the most exotic being the Sun Festival in Marrakech last July (see blog), where I will play also next year.
I keep writing and recording more songs - by myself, at home; I keep playing and arranging more gigs and keep a profile on SellaBand where I am raising a budget for a professional album: www.sellaband.com/agnieszkaholm. I am at the moment well over 28% in budget and No. 9 out of over 3000 artists registered on SellaBand. The fundraising tends to go faster the higher you are, so I am hoping to have a complete budget and start working on my album by the end of next year. With some luck, maybe earlier, and that would be great. If you would like to speed up the process a little bit and receive a copy of my album in the future, you can do it by registering on SellaBand and buying a share for 10$ (or more if you like, and then you can have more copies of my album). I like it when an artist makes original music. Sadly, the music of most artists who try to be original is not nice to listen to any more. Catself has the ability to make music that is both very original and nice to listen to. That was my first thought when I listened to her music for the first time and I still love listening to it months later. The lyrics are also original but what is the most important for me is Catself's original and catchy melodies, arrangements and voice. Meowsers! December 1st! This year is flying by like it has wings. Wez berry happy because we started out this year wif no meowspace fwiends.
