Ágona foi formada em agosto de 2005. No ano seguinte, após mudanças na formação, a banda se mantém até hoje com os mesmos fundadores. Buscando sempre seu ideal sonoro, percorre 2007 com shows no Rio de janeiro, São Paulo e Minas Gerais.
Em 2008 a banda grava um Single chamado "Semente" e, tendo uma ótima repercussão, obtém um ano repleto de shows no estado carioca.
Com um ano mais reflexivo, a banda decide investir em suas composições e segue 2009 com uma agenda cadenciada entre sua turnê e a gravação de seu mais novo trabalho, o Ep "Essencial Putrefação".
Ágona tem em suas composições letras em português, e essas são influenciadas por bandas como Pantera, Lamb of God e Mastodon. Intitulam-se como Death/Thrash Metal, mas podemos perceber elementos de Progressive Metal e até mesmo passagens experimentais em suas músicas.
Os temas das letras são em grande parte sobre a decadência do pensamento humano e todos os males que isso provoca, além de filosofia e progressão/superação do saber. A banda se encontra no processo final das gravações e com lançamento do websingle "Karma", uma prévia com 3 faixas do Ep "Essencial Putrefação" com data prevista para ser lançado no segundo semestre de 2010.

Ágona was formed in August, 2005. In the following year, after changing some members, the band is still with the same formed members.
Always seeking the ideal sound, the band pass through 2007 with concerts in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and Minas Gerais.
In 2008 the band has recorded a Single called "Semente" (Seed) and with its great repercussion, The band got an year full of concerts in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
In a more reflexive year, the band decides to invest in new compositions and goes through 2009 with a schedule cadenced between touring and recording of the new work, the new EP "Essencial Putrefação" (Essencial Putrefaction).
Ágona has in its compositions lyrics in portuguese, influenced by bands like Pantera, Lamb of God and Mastodon. They lable themselves Death/Thrash Metal, but it's notable some Progressive Metal and even some experimental parts in their songs.
The lyrics themes are mainly about the human thought's decay and the evil that it brought , besides philosophy and progression/overcoming of the knowledge.
The band is now in the final process of the recording and realeasing the websingle "Karma" a preview of 3 tracks of the EP "Essencial Putrefação", which will be released in the second semester of 2010.
