Agoraphobia wurde ursprünglich 1989 im Raum Heidelberg als Death Metal Band gegründet und avancierte als Urgestein der lokalen Szene schnell zur Kultband. Bis es 1993 zur Auflösung kam, hatte man sich durch starke Demos und einer LP (Wailing of Souls – Black Power Records), sowie durch energiegeladene Liveshows eine beachtliche Fanbase erspielt.
Zwölf Jahre später und musikalisch gereift, reformierten die zwei Ur-Gitarristen Agoraphobia in neuer Besetzung (die 2007 auf den aktuellen Stand gebracht wurde) und in einem neuen, modernen Gewand, welches Death Metal, Hardcore und Thrash Metal auf ganz eigene Art und Weise vereint!
Ein besonderes Trademark erhält die Musik Agoraphobias durch die beiden Sänger, die gekonnt aggressiven, hardcorelastigen Gesang mit bösen Death-Growls verbinden. Die Basis dafür bilden die mit tödlicher Präzision spielende Rhythmussektion sowie die pfeilschnellen, rifflastigen Gitarren.
Unterlegt von einem groovigen und gut strukturiertem Grundgerüst, das jeden Fuß und Nackenmuskel zum Mitwippen anregt, verbinden Agoraphobia Tradition und Moderne, indem sie old school Death/Thrash Elemente auf eine neue, eigenständige Weise mit modernen Harmonien und Melodien verschmelzen. Dies wird unmissverständlich auf den beiden selbstproduzierten CD..s „Sick“ und besonders auf der aktuellen Scheibe „The Fire Inside“, welche im Frühjahr 2008 veröffentlicht wird, unter Beweis gestellt!

Originally founded as a Death Metal Band in the Heidelberg area, Germany, in 1989, Agoraphobia quickly advanced as one of the founding fathers of the local scene to a cult band. After the split in 1993 several of the band members could be found in bands like Crematory, Pyogenesis, Liquido and My Early Mustang.
12 years later and musically matured, the two original guitarists reformed Agoraphobia in a new cast and with a new, modern appearance, uniting Death Metal, Hardcore and Thrash Metal in a completely unique way!
Through the continual side-by-side of aggressive screaming vocals and deeply evil growls, the two shouters lend the music of Agoraphobia a very individual and brutal touch.
Supported by a grooving and well-structured foundation, which animates every foot and neck-muscle to swing, Agoraphobia connect tradition and modern by melting Old School Death/Thrash elements with modern harmonies and melodies in a new, independent way.
Agoraphobia are unique, burst with energy and convince while on stage as well as on their self-produced albums “Sick” and "The Fire Inside"!
