Agressor is a kick ass metal band from Costa Rica which had its start back in 1995, when the love for the music started to develop among the founding members at a very young age, from which only Joe (guitar) remains. There were initially four songs recorded (Anger in my soul, BioTool, Social mutilation, Little Star) and some still remain part of the bands current set list. Back in 1997 the other guitar player (Bryan) had to leave the band and move back to the United States, which opened the slot for another friend of the band and great guitarist, Minor to join in. It was then that the band finally took off playing in local festivals like the Underground series held around that time and many other with great acceptance from the crowds. The band released the single Anger in my Soul in local radio stations and received great coverage from the media, including many interviews which gave the band the experience and the confidence to move forward. At the end of the year 1999, the band suffered a major setback when it became victim of crime, and all of the equipment was stolen. This incident definitely caused an effect on the bands immediate future to the point that it almost disintegrated since there was no way to practice, besides the logical emotional punch. In the year 2000, Joe (Guitar and founding member of the band) left to pursue other goals and experiment with different instruments and music influences and that gave the chance to Adrian (Postmortem) to step in. At the time Minor already had left the band, and the momentary line up there was Nelson-vocals, Matt-bass, Adrian-guitar, Ivan-drums (Ivan is Joes brother and long time member of the band) After some years of struggling, 2003 was the year when the decisive changes hit the band. Ivan unfortunately left and Joe came back. It was here when many drummers auditioned to take this spot which was eventually given to Camac, the bands current drum player. This finally led to the current line up: Nelson-vocals, Joe-guitar, Matt-bass, and Camac-drums. From here and to recent date marks the most important stage of the band, since it has become more and more professional with time, struggling with a almost inexistent local scene and achieving different sponsorships for sound, PR, etc. As well as setting the standards in unprecedented ways for the countrys history in metal. The band has just finished independently recording their latest EP and has completed the making of their first ever video for the single Low. The commercial release for this material is expected to be late April, early May of 2006. All hopes and dreams are set on the pursue of a record deal, which would definitely be the boost that the band needs to expand its market possibilities, since the local Costa Rica scene is merely just for the sake of playing.
