DJ Special T, from nyc moved to Georgia, was immediately signed by Jermaine Dupri, CEO of So So Def Records.
He became an Official So So Def staff DJ.
Tony a.k.a Special T , performed at exclusive parties for So So Def artists, T.I, Sean “Puffy” Combs of Bad Boy Entertainment and worked with AG Entertainment, the largest booking agency in Atlanta.
DJ Special T also went on to become a founding member of the World Famous Super Friends, one of the most successful DJ collations to date and founded his own LLC “Uptop Productions”.
DJ Special T performed in every hot club in Atlanta.
The first club, Kaya was where he began his residency.
He then moved to club 112, The Velvet Room, Club Flavor, Visions, and Essos to name a few.
DJ Special T’s night at Club Flavor was co-hosted by Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes of TLC, Ludacris, and Swizz Beats (an up and coming DJ and Producer at the time).
Swizz Beats use to borrow DJ Special T’s records and they maintained a strong relationship throughout both of their professional careers.
DJ Special T was quickly finding his niche as a music producer and single-handedly began developing his own roster of talent for “Uptop Productions LLC”.
Once again, he almost faced death for the third time, in which he was involved in a serious car accident.
A drunk driver ran a stop sign and seriously injured him and two other friends, as their car over turned and pinned them inside.
Tony survived this accident that left him with scratched vocal cords.
His voice almost being gone did not stop him from MCing, Producing, and Performing in the music buisness.
DJ Special T is ingrained in the fabric of the ATL’s club and music industry as a Legend.
DJ Special T was loved and respected by not only the International DJ and music community, but by everyone that met him.
