   The Lady in Red's Blurbs
About me:
Arlington High School The Lady in Red is a 76 minute feature length independent film created by The Sullivan Group in 2007. The documentary highlights the history of Arlington Heights, Illinois starting from 1845, and the Arlington Heights High School from the early 1900's until its closing in 1984. This is a heartwarming depiction of the tradition and spirit of the school, and the importance of "community" as the village went through these fascinating decades in 20th Century America. The production utilizes rare archival material with voice-over narration, and interviews with former students and staff from the 1930s through 1980s. Those who know the story can reminisce, and those unfamiliar can perhaps identify with the foundations in life that are important to everyone in the world.

THANKS ! for everyone's support at the World Premiere on June 2nd, 2007 and all the subsequent events. The response has been inspiring. It's been an amazing journey talking with hundreds of people about the project. We have heard from devoted alumni from as far away as Ireland and the Czech Republic, and over 1400 copies of the DVD are in people's homes in several states- from New York to California to Hawaii. The common bond of AHS unites us all.

Below you can click on the slide show photos to read the captions, and play portions of the film. GO CARDS !

Congratulations to 'The Lady in Red' producers and film crew. This documentary about a 'Norman Rockwell*' midwest high school near Chicago -- that broke hearts when it closed -- is an effective look at high school life, a growing Chicago suburb from it's beginnings and the interplay of world events and local community. Fans of Arlington High School, residents of Arlington Heights, Illinois and all fans of history from the 1800's to 1980's will thoroughly enjoy this video production.
