All we've ever wanted to do is play. We never wanted to hark back to the "golden age" of guitar music or emulate the past actions of our idols. We set out to experiment and to create a sound that interested us and encouraged our audience to share our vision of music unconfined. It wasn't that we were deliberately trying to be different as much as we found no inspiration in the mundane. We drew on an eclectic range of influences to create a progressive hard rock hybrid, an indefinable yet distinct and listenable sound that evolved free from the shackles of the generic.
And people seemed to enjoy it.
Now, after nearly four years of gigging, touring and recording, we find ourselves experienced, professional, motivated and in need of exposure. All we've ever wanted to do is play. Now we want to be heard.
Gem, it's our new CD launch party and it's Free! Cd to be reviewed in the next Metal Hammer and Kerrang. We are also up your way at The Purple Turtle August 12th if you are around.
..........a vitality and creative spark crackling throughout this album……..This is definitely the finest thing the band have released, imaginative, crisp, free flowing and with a warm production, I heartily recommend it to all lovers of space/psychedelic rock music. (Simon Lewis- Ptolmaic Terrascope)
“Sendelica stand out from the crowd. ..because they have great record titles and likewise great songtitles (“Manhole of the universe” or “Dark Disko”). But mostly because they play instrumental stoner rock without getting boring. Which in itself is a feat of epic notoriety. .... Sendelica offer a right nice banana split coup,...Hm, I am getting a special taste here. ........, I start to think about Black Sabbath and John Coltrane, because there is some of both in Sendelica. . http://www.monochrom.at/cracked/reviews/Rev%20sendelica.htm
"The band conjures a freewheeling psychedelic sound which is based on the typical power trio instrumentation of guitar, bass and drums, and then spice it up with a whole lot of electronics .. a psychedelic journey that starts out quietly enough, builds up momentum and erupts eventually into a kaleidoscopic crescendo. Press Reviews:
"NIXA possess a quality that sets them apart from other front runners on the alt/rock scene with perfect dynamics and incredible song craft. They bounce between gentle and aggressive in a single beat, tied with soaring harmonies and mesmerising stage presence. This band will find themselves being listened to by a wide audience, no doubts in both the alternative and commercial rock scenes" Alli Hodge, TotalRock Radio
"...done very, very well. Deep, powerful voice, BIG music and just the feeling that something very professional is happening -I don't mean in a clinical way, just in that way that, when you find out they're unsigned, it's a bit of a shock!" Marsha Shandur XFM
"Gutsy, melodic, and totally credible, Nixa deliver that refreshing breed of British rock that will fly off shelves and download sites." Dave Grenfell, FeedMe Music, Promoter of The Year 2008 Indy Awards
"One of the top 10 unsigned acts in the UK" Metro National Newspaper
