From Perth, Western Australia comes 22 year old solo songwriter / guitarist Aiden Varro. He combines a finger picking and mellow lapslide toned approach to guitar in a blues and roots style. He utilises two guitars when performing live: a 12 string acoustic and the weissenborn hollow-neck lapslide to add some variety. While open tunings and slide are his forte, his songs are written about social and ethical values with a touch of love and soul for good measure. He is armed with an array of effects and a stomp box on stage to create a new wave of guitar-driven, acoustic roots.
Aiden has been busy of late with performances at the Nannup, Fairbridge and Bridgetown Blues festivals, receiving airplay on JJJ and supporting some favourites Ash Grunwald, Jez Mead and Nathan Kaye.
After his successful debut album “Tastes of Inspiration” Aiden’s new EP “My Story” draws from the same vein of driving roots but backed with a band.
'Aiden Varro is a self funded, self managed independent artist'

Hi Aiden, just letting you know that our trio, Trigger, has a CD launch at the Davalak in Freo on Friday 12th June. If you are free and in town please pop in for a listen.
My new live album "Tempo, musique pour calcaire et guitares" (music for limestone and slide guitars from a live concert in duet with Franck Kernel, stone carver) will be available for may 2009. I'm really happy with this project. You can watch a video (the last song of this 6 hours long work with interview) from this show at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfB4_vaRZrU
spewing i missed you playin with a band for the first time mate, but i woulda loved to catch up with a beer... as you can imagine times change and i dont get onto the old myspace very often, me and my mrs are on facebook though so il give you my thing on there and if your on add me there. easier to keep up with things when there is only once place to look. http://www.facebook.com/s.php?ref=search&init=q&q=carra&sid=6c8975c1e9f4eb048189033fd02b2d41#/profile.php?id=647265574&ref=profile

yeh, dad was one of the organisers, he's moved over to UK now but like to keep as involved in it as possible..... Slide workshop u say? Might have to lay off the booze enuf to attend then haha.
<br />The winery's beautiful. I worked there many moons ago. Never seen a gig there tho so might be interesting!
<br />Hopefully catch you then, or before at an A. Hole gig when they're here maybe??!!!

I know, i'm slack. I actually spent most of bridgetown feeling sorry for myself. Had a BLAST but didnt get to nearly enough gigs. It was my second week back from 8 months up North so i went a bit nuts and the vodka was just looking too good.
<br />I see your playin in Darlington in may so i'll have to get up there as its only 5 mins from my place. Do u have plans to play at Mundaring F&B club again? You should, hasn't been an attractive enough lineup for me to make the venture there in ages....
<br />Are you going to west coast Blues and Roots next month? a few pretty awesome folk worth a look eh.
