"Pure energy. I have to say I may be a little biased because all night I was waiting for them to play "lets go and skateboard," but when they dropped it I skanked for the first time in a loooong time. From up-beat feel-good ska to the appropriately-named "dark song" (Home Away From Home) that makes you want to throw on some gym shorts and start picking up change, they are a cross-section of a lot of things happening in the ska scene right now. With a new EP out, "God Loves Rock N' Roll" (title track for which is one of my favorite songs live), they plan on rocking as much as possible in the coming months. As a side note, they are awesome dudes and if you can give them a place to stay on the road I can almost guarantee they won't steal or kill anything or anyone. 75% sure."

"God Loves Rock and Roll opens strong. Really strong. You’re sitting there thinking “Wait, this is a ska band right? They have horns and shit right? This is kinda like… weird hardcore”. Then the horns come in, but in a sort of removed way because the horns don’t drive this first song, the vocals do. The horns sound distant, and bring to mind a distant but not forgotten glory that lives with you as a memory. The vocals are a real treat on the first few tracks. They have a percussive-ness more characteristic of bands without horns of any kind. Sort of beard-rock-y. The vocals are really trashy and throaty, the vocalist was definitely having a good day when he was recording this EP. Interestingly, the horns really lift up the vocals and prevent the vocals from getting monotonous. As each new song plays I find myself surprised and impressed. There’s a comedy in them and there’s an inherent need to dance I get. Most of the parts that have been done before are abruptly broken by something that’s totally unexpected. The songwriting here is of a high caliber."

....in Tucson? Haha, it's gonna be a good show. I would tell ya to come down tomorrow though. Creeps, ECV, Cultura, Elron and the Thetons, and a band called Forty Lashes are playing at HoodRide. This week is just full of good shows.
I know! I tried to get the day off of work, but they won't let me have it. I loved you guys when I seen the Trunk Space show and I can imagine how it'd be in your own area. It's a definite bummer. On the bright side, I do get to see Bomb the Music Industry's tour kickoff here that night.
I think it helps that you guys play in one of my favorite places besides Phoenix, and that you guys are good. It's totally worth it on my part, and I'd be heading out for the show Thursday if I didn't have to work.
I know this sounds like a lame excuse or something, but that's actually my mom's B-day. What's even lamer is I forgot my mom's birthday until she mentioned it on the phone today. I will do it for sure during one of your future shows. Feel free to print this out, hold it over my head when you see me, and call me derogatory names until I do it. I will see you Saturday though.
Hey guys. Any of you guys know of anyone or anywhere that could put up 14 people for the night? I believe we're gonna crash in Tucson after the show. See ya next week :) Check out our new jams too and let us know what ya think
I know this is short notice, but we are opening for an amazing Sublime tribute 40oz to Freedom this Saturday at The Rock! They are SOO GOOD! We'd really love for you to be there! Perhaps we can do some ticket swapping?
