About Who The AIDS Walk
Benefits:
AIDS Walk St.
Petersburg benefits community programs at AIDS Service Association of Pinellas
(ASAP) including the Medical Co-pay Assistance Program. This program helps
clients with limited financial aid for doctor visits, lab work and medications.
To qualify, a client must meet the following criteria. They must be HIV
positive, employed, insured and residing in Pinellas County. Additionally,
clients are unable to receive this service if they are on Disability, Medicaid
or Medicare.
The Alfred T. May Food & Personal Needs Pantry supplements ASAP clients with
basic food and personal hygiene products. Clients are offered a designated
number of items on a monthly basis. This allows clients to choose that which
they will most use. We at ASAP are dedicated to serving our clients with the
utmost respect and dignity.
The first Tuesday of each month we co-sponsor a collaborative fellowship dinner.
This dinner is free of cost to the community. Clients are encouraged to invite
their friends and family to attend. Our goal is to promote kinship, awareness
and education in a safe and enjoyable environment. On a quarterly basis
educational speakers are brought in with the latest and greatest up-dates on
medications, services and developments in the HIV/AIDS community.
The ASAP Community Program Team is also responsible for the development and
marketing of ASAP special events and fundraising. These events, include, but are
not limited to: AIDS Walk St Petersburg, Dining Out For Life, The World AIDS Day
Gala and maintaining a presence at community festivals.
