Established nearly a century ago, AIGA is the leading professional association for design. It is recognized worldwide as an authority on design excellence and is committed to stimulating thinking about design through the exchange of ideas and information, the encouragement of critical analysis and research, and the advancement of education and ethical practice.
Essentially, we're a group of local creatives who like to get together to discuss all things design, learn, create, meet new people with similar interests, and just have fun (aka drink, if you're over 21). So what are you waiting for?

Announcing the 3rd Annual JaxARTunleashed juried art show!
ARTunleashed is looking for local and regional artists to donate pet inspired artwork to be displayed and sold in a professional setting in Jacksonville, Florida. The show will be juried by a committee of art professionals who will select the works for exhibition. Cash prizes of $1.500, $1,000, and $500 will be awarded to the top three pieces. This is a fun high-visibility event that makes a huge impact on the lives of our community’s homeless pets!
All media will be considered, and all pieces must be inspired (but do not necessarily have to depict animals). This third annual event is a fundraiser for First Coast No More Homeless Pets, www.fcnmhp.org and will be attended by hundreds of local art lovers and buyers!
To be included on a mailing list for event updates, just send an email to DLFields@bellsouth.net or call FCNMHP at 904-338-9039, and watch www.jaxartunleashed.com for the 2008 artists’ package.

Read about Why Women Get Paid Less. It's now less about discrimination and more that we're not asking for more. If we work together, we can raise salaries for women (and designers) everywhere.
Why should men care? One reason of many: If women's salaries go up, so does the overall average salary, giving men more bargining power, too.
