Er, most of the people i listen to have some sort of influence but here goes..Ella Fitzgerald, Air, Kate Bush, Jethro Tull, Merz, Egg, Pink Floyd, Daft Punk, Fats Domino, Stevie Wonder, TOTO, Janis Joplin, Neil Young, dEUS, Nina Simone, The Smiths, ......ill keep adding.
Aimie has been a performer for several years and after bidding farewell to the acting boards, her paintbrushes, film composition and playing keyboardist to other bands; she has cut the ties to all but her piano and guitar and intends to run..well, take trains, planes and anything which runs that isn't her; as fast and far as such people can go..(she doesn't run well..), to wherever she can play.
Of late, aimie has recorded and performed (along with her long-suffering bassist Marl Waters) in folk trio Beneath The Oak, whose recent supports with her include John Renbourn & Robin Williamson. Her solo supports include Amy Macdonald, Simone White and Foy Vance, with more exciting gigs in the pipeline!
Aimie is almosty ready to record her upcoming solo album, which is to be a little different to her debut E.P 'Count To Ten'. The latter is a wonderful medley of the musicians that were around her at the time of recording, creating a musical time capsule of that point in her life. This recording will be without the aid of any other musicians.. and so will aptly be entitled 'Be Here Alone'. She hopes to have it ready for the autumn.
All Aimie's sites are continually updated as and when so thanks for reading, and keep stopping by, or check out her facebook pages. Hopefully see you at a gig soon!
'..acidic, troubled, straight-to-the-point and talented way way way beyond her years.'
- The Duchess, York
'..subtlety and elegance in both the playing and the vocals. Starting with a couple of melancholy, possibly even despressing, numbers Don't Make Friends With Your Hangman and Razorblade (both from the EP) the set gradually got more upbeat. Aimie's voice is fantastic, reminding me at times of Tracy Chapman...' - Ian Massey, Duids Thoughts
>>>>>>>> BUY AIMIE'S DEBUT 4TRACK E.P HERE!! £4!! <<<<<<<<
'I bought a copy of Aimie's EP which, I am happy to say, contains four very good songs. These are full-band versions with a number of guest musicians including Angela Gordon playing flute on two songs...I'll be looking out for the album.'
- Ian Massey, Druids Thoughts.

In other news, receive it I did; and like it muchly also. It currently adhorns my iPod in a special little "Aimie" section just for you. I even forced my Dad to listen to it too, and he was suitably impressed with your tunes.
So bravo to you Miss Ryan, a job bloody well done! When's the next one out?
Oh, and I tried to change the song on my profile, but even when I took you off and readded you in again it seemed to want to call you Aimie as opposed to Aimie J Ryan. Sorry.
If you forgive me, you can have the other sock too...
I'm impressed Miss Aimie. For some strange reason I've only recently discovered your myspace page and listened to your tunes. You sound great! Really like it :) I look forward to hearing you play some day :) Wxx

Hello Aimie. Lovely set last night! Even though "oh my god you only use 2 fingers to play" etc..:) My fave song was 'Razorblade', I really like that one. They sounded great with Mark's bass playing too.
I just listened to that "She has got a job' on here!...how very bizarre!!!! Strangley quite brilliant though! haha
