About Association of Improvising Musicians Toronto

AIMToronto is a not-for-profit, artist-run organization mandated to promote local, creative, improvising musicians.
Founded near the end of 2004, AIMToronto was conceived as an umbrella under which the city’s disparate pockets of improvising musicians could all organize; a banner we could all wave that would provide increased visibility for the community as a whole while maintaining its diversity.
Our Mandate:
To promote improvised music and improvising musicians in Toronto by working for the benefit of the scene with respect for its diversity.
To aquaint the public with an alternative and creative music experience by engaging old and new audiences alike with an open and interactive approach to music, art, and community.
To produce the Interface Series: a quarterly, three night music series presenting local, improvising musicians in performance situations with artists who are recognised as being contributors to the improvised music community on a national and international scale. The production of this series will serve to raise the profile of local improvisers within Toronto and to advance our relationship with the wider community.
To offer extensive outreach programs in addition to these concerts in the form of open rehearsals, workshops and performances in various schools. This will help to find and educate new, interested listeners and promote local artists making creative music to the community at large.

- The project was about trying to explore different poetry styles, always with different instrumentations and musical structures because I don't want to repeat a single one - An album not directly linked to the four previous ones, but with the impossible to avoid come back to fetish themes - Second Life is about the technological phenomena, but I got better things to do with my life than spending it on the clone of a capitalist society - We might as well hope for a real bankrupcy for all of us, it would be worth it to kill capitalism
