Hi folks! We’ve not got much to weave a story about Air & Air. Anyway, Air & Air is a guitar based instrumental band that originated in the beginning of 2008. The band consists of Zubair & Omair (two guitar soloists). We, the two Guitarists who comprise Air & Air formed the band as a projected band where others musicians who work with us are designated as guest and co-members. But later on Ashraf joined the band as bassist and Rony as drummer. Our basic genre is rock, blues, and progressive, but we wish to do fusion and experimental music too. We are from Dhaka, Bangladesh (a south Asian country). We have been playing guitar around for 10 years. We play, compose and teach guitar. “Why the band’s name is Air & Air?” we often get asked that! Well, it has an interesting answer. If you observe the spelling of the names of the two guitarists, you can find the both names (zubAIR & omAIR) have a common word “Air”. We, therefore, kept the band’s name Air & Air which actually is the abridged version of Zubair & Omair.
Anyway, “The Maverick’s Rhapsody” is an instrumental song of Air & Air that came out in a compilation album in the end of 2008. Now we are working on our debut guitar solo album. Hopefully, we will be able to finish the album by the end of 2009. We are striving to produce an album with adequate musical quality. We are quite optimistic that our album will satisfy and enchant the rock music lovers.
Probably we don’t have much left to say about the band. We just love music. We always want to respect all the genuine and honest musicians of all genres of the whole world rather than being disdainful of them. We have grown up by listening to The Beatles, The Rolling Stone, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Van Halen, Guns ’n Roses, Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, B.B. King, our illustrious heroes, our influences. And day by day we started dreaming of becoming genuine guitarist and musician under the influence of those maestros. In fact, we wouldn’t dream of being musician without listening to them. In this way we picked up the guitar and started sowing the seeds of our success which is yet to be achieved. We are working hard to turn our dream into reality. We don’t believe in meteoric name and fame, but we believe that we have yet to cross over a long path to accomplish the genuine musicianship. To achieve our goal, we firmly need your constant support, inspiration, honest comment, criticism, and mockery regarding our compositions and works, by anything you can bestow us whether your thought about our music is positive or negative, would be highly appreciated.
