Biography and Discography
The Airbase story begins in 1994 with the obtaining of a music creation software pitched by a finish cousin. The strive to improve brought the attention to a new software that all youngster producers should know of; Fast Tracker. During a few years in the late nineties, a huge amount of tracks was produced. With the first full time employment pay check early 2000 the first piece of hardware was bought, a Yamaha CS2x Control Synthesizer. With the aim to improve the sound and arrangements the choice landed on Cubase VST. For almost 2 years a vast number of tracks were produced. The lack of fundings and the inference that the Yamaha CS2x couldn't any longer bring anything new to the productions, a fellow friend showed off the swedish software Propellerheads Reason 1.0. In a few days the conversion was complete, and all time was now spent in Reason.
One of the first tracks to be produced in Reason was Airbase Emotion, which caught the attention of the german label Alphabet City. The first contract was signed, and the track was released. During the time of promotion and mastering, a new Airbase single was produced, Genie. It was decided to go as the second release. While waiting for the Genie release, other labels were showing interest in other tracks produced since the conversion, and all of a sudden the schedule was filled with remix assignments and other releases. Now there are signatures on contracts with labels such as Alphabet City, Armada, Platipus, Mondo Records, Kompressed Records, Gesture Music, Be Yourself Music and some others. Remixes has been done for high profile artists like Iio, Safri Duo, Matt Darey, Above & Beyond, Blank & Jones and Alex Morph, to mention a few. The brother co-operation First & Andre Widescreen was also selected to be the Sensation White Belgium Edition Anthem of 2005 for the highly acclaimed label Be Yourself Music, formerly known as the label of ID&T, which marks a great mile stone and provides a lot of inspiration for the future.
With the releases came the requests for DJ bookings. A positive side effect since the interest for DJ:ing rose already in college 1995-1996 with unlimited access to a DJ setup including both turntables, cd-players and a mixer. This far countries like England, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Holland, Belgium and many more has been visited. Lately also US promoters has shown interested in bookings.
