Air Raid, the new messiah's of rock. If you don't
believe it, you'll just get left behind.
In an age of X Factor, Reality TV and the quick
fix, the mantra don't smoke, don't drink and don't
eat too much may leave you asking, who killed
the rock star?
Look no further. In the late night drinking bars of
South Wales, where bad metal nights and cheap
takeaways prevailed, the need for a great rock
band became clear. Think classic mixed with
modern day rock. A music that exudes soaring
melodic vocals, monstrous guitar riffs and the
onslaught of a thunderous rhythm section.
Air Raid was the brainchild of vocalist Gary
Ryland, a.k.a. Ragsy and guitarist Kevin
Bradwick. Together they formed a natural song
writing partnership. The recruitment of 70's fanatic
rock drummer Gareth Dower and Wales' one and
only bass guitar hero Gavin Davies, shortly
followed. Ragsy, who draws his inspiration from
vocal legend Paul Rogers of Free and Bad
Company, found singing to be a natural ability
from a young age. Kevin was driven by the
creative possibilities that a guitar had to offer and
found direction through the iconic figures of Jimi
Hendrix, Joe Perry and The Edge. Gareth, who's
talent arrived early on, engineered his sound
around Mr John Henry Bonham of the great Led
Zeppelin. Last but not least, Gavin developed his
fascination with the bass sound through listening
to the vibrations of Jon Paul Jones, Flea and Billy
Sheehan.
The line up was now complete and the four piece
were ready to bring their rock show out of the
rehearsal room and into the public arena. In
Britain the boys are fast becoming one of the
most exciting rock bands on the circuit. Having
taken to the stage at The Underworld, Bar Fly's,
Borderline and Pop Factory, they are continually
developing and increasing their following.
The new EP entitled "Red Handed & Guilty" is the
story so far. A benchmark for the band, from the
opening guitar riff to the last cymbal fading, Air
Raid have awoken a monster!
Now, throw away all your new fangled "Rock"
revival bands and experience the real thing!
