Sounds Like
"...a singer-songwriter with a lusciously languid voice...On the slow-
paced 'Sediment of Centuries' that voice scores on all fronts, as she tackles
lyrics that go way beyond mere woe-is-me introspection and take on a
literary quality."
- Jackie Hayden, Hot Press (Nov 5, 2008)
Aisling Mc Cormilla is a proven performer and an original singer/songwriter from Monaghan. While continuing to perform as a solo artist she has fronted rock bands such as Bad Dog and Jezz, and is currently performing her songs with a new acoustic ensemble.
Aisling has played in various venues such as the Flatlake Festival, The Brewery and The Market House in Monaghan, Spirit Store and The Museum in Dundalk, not to mention Radio City, Dorans, Whelans, BoomBoom Room, 4 Dame Lane and The Sugar Club in Dublin. She has shared bills with acts including Ham Sandwich, The Coronas, Dirty Epics, Bill Coleman, Giveamanakick, Speedking, Saccade and The Green Lights.
Aisling’s recent recordings are acoustic and minimal, focusing on harmonies and an intimate delivery of her haunting lyrics; she has re-recorded some older songs and has offered one or two new works such as Sediment of Centuries.
Aisling holds a BA in Fine Art Media, and has experimented with solo performances for video and theatre, as well as acting in many theatre and film productions. A recently choreographed piece titled Toraiocht Meadbh was performed in The Garage Theatre, Monaghan and Kuwana, Japan. Music for the piece titled Tain Bo was specially composed by Barry W. Hughes (www.myspace.com/kidnapperdc). Aisling’s artwork can be found at www.freewebs.com/mccormilla

Welcome and thank you for becoming our friend! The helpless must be protected, and those with no voice of their own must be spoken up for. Those who prey on our children rely on silence, and it must not be allowed to continue! So thank you for adding your voice to ours, together we will grow louder.... AND WE WILL BREAK THE SILENCE!!!
