Table 5 is actually two friends (Kevin Sackett and Doug Buckendorf) that go to Collister Community Church in Boise Idaho. Founded in January of 2008, Table 5 is the name we came up with after listening to the final verse of "It's a Jesus Thing". In that verse, the waitress sits down at Table number 5 and takes Christ as Savior. This name was confirmed when we shot the photo for the cover of "It's A Jesus Thing" album. When we arrived at the restaurant on Super Bowl Sunday (February 3, 2008) the diner was packed. We asked for a booth so we could take a picture that would represent the moment the waitress raises her hands in the air to praise the Lord for salvation. As we made our way into the lobby, a booth "suddenly" became available and we were led to an open booth. We asked the waitress seating us what table number we were sitting at and she replied, "Table 5". So, the photo on "It's a Jesus Thing!" album is actually Table 5. Table 5 is not a group or a band and we have no plans to tour the world or get caught up in the business of self promotion. We believe the Lord gives us music and lyrics to promote His Kingdom and the Gospel message of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ.
Both Kevin and Doug lead worship at Collister Church and have been friends since they met in 2002. Doug has been given the gift of powerful vocals with a wide vocal range to chose from while Kevin has been given the gift to compose songs that inspire faith in Jesus Christ to both believer and non-believer.
When you listen to the songs on our albums, you understand where our heart is. Our desire is that the songs we produce will change a mind and then change a heart one soul at a time.
