About me:

~ My name is Ajlina ~
Some folks know me as "Eileen" a name I made up at age 17
I have spent most of my life moving around this world
I was born on the Adriatic Sea coast of beautiful Croatia
1185 islands ~ beautiful beaches ~ mountains ~ culture ~ cuisine ~ wine ~ great people
I lived my childhood in unforgetable enchanting Zambia, Africa
I later lived in various areas of California
My favorite was the Monterey Bay Peninsula
I have lived in Austria, Germany, Holland, England
Missouri, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland
Croatia has been home ~ of an on ~ throughout the years
For me nothing beats the Adriatic Sea ~ nothing
I recently moved to the southern coast of California
I do not know where I will live next

I enjoy spending my time with friends and family
laughing ~ exploring ~ taking pictures
I enjoy meeting interesting people from everywhere and anywhere
My friends are beautiful people
upfront and honest ~ kind and generous ~ adventurous and spontaneous ~ confident and loyal
I like people that can make me laugh
People that can speak with their eyes
People that have something to say
That make me think
People who are genuine
People I can trust - no time for bullshit

I'm old fashioned in some ways - I refuse to text - I prefer to speak with people
I think using email or texting as a primary form of communication is lame
Think about it for a second - would you really communicate with certain people
if speaking to them was the only form of communication? I bet not!
I don't hang out with people that incessantly check their phones and/or text
I am not on twitter or Facebook
I like my solitude and the real world and I choose not to communicate that much
One day I won't be on MySpace anymore
I simply prefer to be in the company of people

I think it is most important that I be honest and reliable
I don't forgive easily and sometimes I don't forgive at all
life is too short to waste time on dishonest people
I am a caregiver at heart
I'm pretty good at seeing through bullshit
I think doctors and celebrities are regular people
I admire people that have had a hard life and yet are kind rather than bitter
I don't like excuses
I have excellent work ethic
I respect the privacy of others
I respect the choices people make even if it is not something I would do
I can be stubborn
I enjoy making people laugh
I can be silly and ridiculous
I can be very mean
I don't kiss ass
I admit fault when I screw up - no bullshit - no excuses
I adore Edward Cullen
I don't stand and watch - I call 911
I don't take myself too seriously
I believe it's important to listen to children when they speak
I get grumpy if I don't travel every so often
I would like to work on a Guy Ritchie project
I own a car I can afford - I don't respect those that live out of their means
I don't judge people by their cover - I want to hear their mind and heart

My favorite place to be is on a boat ~ preferably on the Adriatic Sea
I enjoy walking in the woods
I enjoy watching movies, I love IMAX ~ I go to the movies often ~ I see the same film several times if I enjoy it

I love love love to travel
My two favorite vacations have been
a week in Florence, Italy and two weeks on the Southwest coast of Ireland
Beautiful world we have ~ I will die before I see enough
I look forward to my next life ~ as I thrive in this one

Who I'd like to meet:

~ Kimi Räikkönen ~

~ Renée Fleming ~

  • Movies

For my viewing pleasure I require a huge screen and the BEST sound system God has to offer.

  • Television

I RARELY find time to watch TV beyond three favorites...

    LOST
    SUPERNATURAL
    Formula One Racing

  • Books

I LOVE a clever mystery and 19th Century English novels. On occasion to jazz things up, I read an intelligent horror or thriller.
I also read anything Alex H. gives me. But never anything Shaun C. lends me.

    I love my Kindle ;)

  • Heroes

    1) People that SAVE lives.

    2) War DOGS, especially all U.S. military service dogs that served in Vietnam.
In return for their extraordinary service they were either euthanised or abandoned...
left to unknown fates in the hands of the Vietnemese.
Many of these canine heroes were declared "surplus armaments" by U.S. Military officials.
Handlers would have undertaken any sacrifice to see them safely home.
However, these soldiers were under orders and not permitted to do so.
America's war dogs were trained to recognize booby traps,
    mines tunnels and weapons caches.
    They warned troops about ambushes.
They saved lives by dragging wounded soldiers to safety.
America's military dogs prevented over 10,000 casualties
in Vietnam alone and bravely served our country
in Operation Desert Storm as well as WWII.

    3) FREESKIERS!

    4) Little heroes. Little kids with BIG dreams.
The kids that have horrible lives, that are being abused, raped, living with assholes that can't take proper care of them.

    G. K. Chesterton wrote:
"Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist.
Children already know that dragons exist.
Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed."

    5) Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART

    6) People that RESPECT other people, life.

    7) Anyone who is ALONE and hanging in there the best way they know how.
Reach out to the unwanted and forgotten.

    8) Photographers, filmmakers, painters, writers and other artists that give me extraordinary work to ENJOY and reason to think.

    9) Scientists. They discover, they invent,
they fix things. They give us ANSWERS.
