Singer-Songwriter, David Rovics returns to Toledo on June 11th, 8pm
at The Original Sub Shop, 402 Broadway, Toledo, OH. Tickets: $10 at the door Seating Limited
David Rovics always brings us a breath of fresh air, energy, and truth in music as he plays on his stripped-down acoustic guitar combined with searing vocals. Rovics is nationally acclaimed outspoken political singer/songwriter who tours all over North America, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Japan and occasionally elsewhere performing hundreds of shows a year. "Banned by most mainstream US radio stations, David has carved out a niche in the folk scene since the mid-1990s. I would challenge anyone to find a more talented or hard hitting lyricist. ... As well as casting his critical eye over current affairs, Rovics is a master at drawing attention to great struggles throughout history." (2006 Review)
We need his music for rejuvenation and recommitment to the struggle!
Our excitement is mounting for a long-overdue celebration of the causes for which we struggle daily! David Rovics brings us a breath of fresh air, energy, and truth in music as he plays on his stripped-down acoustic guitar combined with searing vocals.
$10 at the door, seating is limited.
Singer-Songwriter, David Rovics occupies Toledo for an evening of Acoustic Insurgency and Songs of Social Significance on June 11th, 8pm at The Original Sub Shop, 402 Broadway Toledo, OH.
About FTM Book Vol. 1 FTM Book Vol 1: A Basic Introduction to Transman Life is an easy-to-understand, yet comprehensive primer on FTM issues such as:
What is an FTM? How do FTMs see themselves? Appearance Stages in Transition Surgeries Available Common Personal Histories Violence Discrimination Health Issues Counseling Relationships Common Legal Issues
We've worked hard to help create definitions that will help you talk about trans issues with others, including terms for body parts unique to the FTM and by naming the stages of transitioning. This book is great for anyone who who is having trouble understanding the lifestyle or choices of a transperson. When we first began dating, we were shocked that there was no one place that he (Aaron) could turn to show me (Crystal) "See, this explains what being an FTM means." We hope that this book will be a good start.
Best of all, when you order FTM Book Vol. 1: A Basic Introduction to Transman Life you can feel good knowing that sales of the book are being used to fund more research to help FTMs and their partners get through the challenges of their lives. This is a great book for youself and for anyone you know who could use a little more understanding. Also, you can help teach others about trans issues by donating copies to your local high schools, colleges, LGBT centers and libraries.
Happy Earth Day! May You embrace Mother Earth every day and take time to give reverence to her blessings.
Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect.
~Chief Seattle, 1855
I'm not an environmentalist. I'm an Earth warrior.
~Darryl Cherney
There is hope if people will begin to awaken that spiritual part of themselves, that heartfelt knowledge that we are caretakers of this planet.
~Brooke Medicine Eagle
And this, our life, exempt from public haunt, finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks, sermons in stones, and good in everything.
~William Shakespeare
Only when the last tree has died and the last river been poisoned and the last fish been caught will we realise we cannot eat money.
~Cree Indian Proverb
Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.
~John Muir
I only went out for a walk and finally concluded to stay out till sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.
~John Muir, 1913, John of the Mountains: The Unpublished Journals of John Muir, 1938
