Since 1999, Akademiks has been the innovator, the creator and the driving force behind what’s hot and relevant in urban fashion. Our motto “DENIM IS KING” has been at the forefront of every collection for the denim enthusiast who craves quality and detail. Vintage washed, hand-dressed, hand-brushed, over-dyed tinted, potassium-sponged and tripled-dipped indigo treatments are a few of the innovative design techniques that bring credibility to the title “Jeanius Level Products.”

The “Jeanius” behind Akademiks, Donwan Harrell, began his creative journey designing for high-profile fashion brands such as Joseph Abboud, Donna Karan and Nike. Working alongside his wife Jahayra and brother Emmett, Donwan has grown Akademiks from just men’s denim and apparel to include, Akademiks Ladies, Stash House, Boys, Girls, Outerwear, Footwear, and Accessories.

Each season, Akademiks remains committed to creating and designing fashion for “thinkers and doers of tomorrow”; offering insightful messages for those fashionable thought leaders. We started out as a vision that sought to empower our customer through “intelligent” design and are now highly credited as the source of the new creativity present in the street wear category. Since the beginning, Akademiks and its brand extensions have offered original, stand-alone product that is ahead of its time yet right on target.
