in 1996, Profound is founded in Lucerne-Switzerland. after the first Mini-CD, on Valentine’s Day 2001, the Maxi-Single ”tragedy” is released. numerous concerts, reviews/interviews and contributions for compilations.
2003: new name – “aka profound” – new songs, new guitarist, more rock, more energy! recording session with Tommy Vetterli (ex-Coroner / Kreator / Stephan Eicher). --> debutalbum 2005: ”energy is a wild flower” including the Spanish hit “entre 2 tierras“.
the album is published in Switzerland self-distribution. the Rockstar Mag nominates ”energy is a wild flower” for 2nd place in the Playlist, and the Insider Trendmag even album of the month. supports for Xandria (D), Subway to Sally (D), Saltatio Mortis (D), Cinema Strange (USA) and for Paradise Lost (UK). the song “breathe within me“ is on the Zillo Mag compilation (D) and got airplay at radios.
since winter 2006 “aka profound” are glad to announce Steve Karrer (formerly Messiah), on the drums, are playing live and composing very promising songs for a new album. the band is ready for the next level!
