Akhkharu's Interests
|
| General | Dark vampiric stories and other things that go bump in the night... | | Music | Listen--everyday I'll be changing the song on my page to one's from as many of these bands as I can. These bands are my absolute favorite bands.
Slayer
Overkill
Sepultura
Black Sabbath
Pantera
Exodus
King Diamond
Ozzy
Pre-Black Metallica
Decimated
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
I love the guitar, that sound that comes from it, so I also really enjoy these bands. They are all guitar oriented and their songs have a unique sound that I love to listen to as well.

Motorhead
Megadeth
Dio
AC/DC
ZZ Top
Pink Floyd
Ted Nugent
O-L-D Van Halen
Lynard Skynard

| | Movies | JAWS | | Television | Come on, admit it, if you love vampires you watched and liked at least one episode of Buffy, Angel, Forever Night, X-Files, Friday the 13th, Tales From the Crypt, American Gothic, and maybe even Charmed. Depending on your age, possibly even Tales From the Darkside, Kolchak: The Night Stalker or Dark Shadows. The occult on PrimeTime is a kicker-even if it sucks! | | Books | My number one Vampire Book recommendation you would think would be my own book, but it's not. Instead I would first recommend the ENTIRE Necroscope Series by Brian Lumley. Wonderfully written, there are currently 14 novels in the series, with the 15th about to be released.

About me:
Akhkharu: House of the Vampire by Cari McKnight
Over five thousand years ago in a blood soaked Sumerian temple a malignant creature was set loose upon the Earth. The plague of akhkharu was unleashed--an eternal curse to humanity. But with immortality came a warning in the form of prophecy. To thwart the prediction, the vampires lay numberless and quiet for centuries. Now after sitting idle for a millennium they start to stir as the prophecy begins to unfold.
The key to that prophecy is Devin Merchon. As she fights against her destiny, she finds two allies in Alex Stone and Tom Ells. Together they face an ancient enemy thought only to be legend. Unwittingly they discovered the legend is fact and that this is only the beginning. A far more dangerous creature has been awakened. He is the One…the First, an unholy incarnation and the very source of the plague itself. His bloodlust is insatiable and if he obtains Devin it will start in motion an ancient ambition to wipe out civilization and enslave the human race.
...the dead will be more numerous than the living
Author Bio: Cari Mcknight lives in southern Michigan with her husband and young son. Her fascination with the unknown sprang to life at an early age, and still captivates her to this day.
ABOUT ME:
I'm a writer and am about to release the second book in my Akhkharu trilogy. The first book is called Akhkharu: House of the Vampire, the second book is Akhkharu: Apocalypse. I have already begun work on the third and final book, Akhkharu: Inception.
I love to write, I write many different things, from flyers to procedural manuals, but what I love to write the most is fictional vampire tales. I enjoy creating something that is completely my own, but basing it enough in fact to keep it tangible. To ensure the timeline and the geographical references were in order many hours of research had to be done for Akhkharu and it has been absolutely fascinating! I have thoroughly enjoyed all of it, writing the Akhkharu books has given me a glimpse into the true ancient past that I had thought I had known.
Although work on Inception has just begun, I am already throwing around the idea of writing an anthology, focusing on Sarrum and the beginning of it all. I would love to be able to focus the plot around the ancient near east aspects of my story, and this would be the perfect showcase for it.
