Et AFRICAN, pour la negritude.C'est en 1993 que le groupe naitra vraiment,ce soit là Ras Narone et Sangue B qui passaient tout leur temps dans les Sound System du quartier , sous l'influence de Bob Marley,Borning Spear et de quelques groupes des Etas-unis.Jusqu'à un jour autoure d'une retrouvaille
entre pote.Ils s'entendent sur pas mal de points,l'envie de travailler ensemble ne se fait pas attendre.Et deçida de former leur prémier groupe "THE BLACK FACE".Comme tout groupe de la banlieue,BLACK FACE Commence par écumer les night club du coin.Puis vient des parties intéressant .Le groupe se lance dans leur prémier entregistrement d'un single titré "hey diankha bi", dans le soucis de revitaliser l'image des banlieue jusqu'ici victimes des clichés néfastes: la sexuelitée des jeunes filles,Banditismes,chômages,drogues,alcol,agréssions et déperdition scolairedes jeunes.L'objectif donc bien que embitieux,mais loin d'être irrealisable est d'unir les forces vives de communes aussi bien dans le sécteur artistique que dans le sécteur civil pour une nouvelle conscience de solidarité, avec une population estimée à plus de 3 millions d'habitants dans la banlieue .Pikine ville de balieue à 15 minutes en voiture-en fonction des embouteillages du centre de Dakar,Pikine constitue souvent une étape pour les population de l'intérieur du pays qui viennent chercher du travail dans la capital ,mais qui finissent souvent par y rester,grossissant nombre des sans- emplois.le single "hey diankha bi" est trés aprécier par le publique sous le nom de AFRICAN AKHLOU -BI,suite a un mélange de Soul Ragga hip-hop!! qui s'ouvre aussi aux sonorités Reggae .Le groupe décroche desinvitations dans quelques radios privée de dakar Sud FM,et DUNYAA,prémier radio privée du sénégal. AKHLOU BI enchaine les préstations dans les clubs les plus populaire de dakar ,THIOSSANE -LT NIGHT-LE NGALAM -KILIMANJARO-MIAMI- LE SHAEL NIGTH- LE MERO POLICE.
Aprés plusieur participation dans des compils sortie en france, Allemagne aux Etas-unis,et de nombreux tournées en europe ,Akhlou bi sortira plus tard leur prémier opus "DEM WAARYA" en 2006 sous la houllette du label Aroundworld de Boston..............................................................................
AFRICAN AKHLOU BI (an Arabic word symbolizing the creation of humans from God) is a hip-hop, dancehall duo founded by Sang B and Ras Narone, that was created in August 1993 in Pikine, a suburb of Dakar, Senegal. As with many other young, aspiring musicians from the suburbs of Dakar, the members of African Akhlou B grew up in poverty. Fortunately, this hardship became their inspiration for positive music and change. The focus of their message is on the injustices of discrimination, the power of God, and love for all humans.
While the majority of youth in Senegal gravitate towards hip-hop music, African Akhlou B broke away from this trend to find a style that would stand out and spread their message. What they found was Dancehall Reggae, their primary sound. It boasts a vibrant mix of singing and toast (a deep, rough vocal style).
Since the founding of the group, they have toured Senegal and Gambia, contributed to reggae and hip-hop compilations, appeared on television programs, opened for big name artists like Omar Pene and Youssou N’Dour, and participated in the World Shake Festival Tour in Belgium, France and Holland. In 1996, African Akhlou B was honored to perform for the former president of Senegal, Abdou Diouf and the president of France, Jacque Chirac. A major endeavor of theirs has been to educate the youth about the perils of drug use, and so have toured consistently throughout Senegal to bring this message to the next generation of Senegal.
Many music experts in Senegal believe that African Akhlou B will be the next group to carry African Dancehall music around the world.
