BIOGRAPHY

★プロフィール
1984年、"REBECCA"のKEYBOARDS及びCOMPOSERとしてメジャーデビュー。翌年バンドリーダーとなり、「フレンズ」以降のほぼ全作品の作曲を手掛ける。４枚目のアルバム「REBECCA  Ⅳ～Maybe Tomorrow～」が大ブレイク。ロックバンド史上初のオリコンチャート最高１位を獲得し、累計１４０万枚のセールスを記録した。その後も全てのアルバムが同チャート初登場１位となり、名実と共にミリオンセラーアーティストとなる。ライブでは大規模ツアーを多く行ない1989年には東京ドーム(42,000人)でのコンサートを大成功させる。

1990年REBECCAが日本武道館公演後、活動休止を発表。ソロアーティストとしてVIRGIN JAPANと契約を結び、エンジニアFrancois K.を迎え2ndアルバム"FOX"をリリース。その後さまざまなアーティストのプロデュース、楽曲提供などを経て、1999年には自分のエゴをより深く追求、幅広いカルチャーを意識した 自主レーベル"starfish recordings"を立ち上げる。

2002年 Crude Reality 名義でUKのarthrob recordingsと契約。12 inch single「stay or leave」を全世界リリース。2003年には"12 inch single「Octagon Planet」が第二弾としてリリースされた。その年にPARTY"mu-seum"をLOOPにて隔月で開始。2007年には1990年にリリースされたソロアルバム「FOX」が新曲2曲を加え再構築されWHDより再発売された。

2010年9月より「The Best Of All Time」と題し配信リリースがスタート。1984年デビュー以来、レベッカ時代の曲、他アーティストへの提供曲、ソロ曲など各時代から自ら選んだベストソングをリアレンジ、さらに新曲（現在）も含め、彼のフェイバリットでリスペクトするボーカリストに参加してもらうという企画。

2012年1月25日、4枚目のsolo album「THE BEST OF ALL TIME」をCDリリース。また、2011年より"THE BEST OF ALL TIME BAND"としてライブ活動を開始、 現在、DJ、ライブ、プロデュース、劇判音楽の制作など、ジャンルにこだわらない幅広い音楽活動を展開中だ。


★PROFILE
Akio Dobashi started his major label career in 1984, as the keyboard player and composer for the band REBECCA. The following year, he became the leader of the band, and assumed the majority of the song writing responsibilities.
Their fourth album "REBECCA IV _ Maybe Tomorrow" was a major hit and the first album by a rock band to reach No. 1 on the Oricon chart (total sales of 1.4 million). Each subsequent album debuted at number one on the charts, and REBECCA rocketed into the million-selling echelon of elite bands. REBECCA was also well-known for large-scale concert tours, culminating in a 1989 performance at the Tokyo Dome (cap. 42,000).
In 1990, after a performance at the Budokan, REBECCA announced their break-up. Dobashi went solo, signed with Virgin Japan, invited Francois K. to be his engineer and recorded "FOX", his first solo album. He wrote and produced for other artists for a number of years before deciding to establish his own label "starfish recordings" in 1999 to explore his own interests and multi-cultural possibilities. In 2002, he signed a recording contract, under the moniker of Crude Reality, with a UK label, Arthrob Recordings. A 12-inch single "Stay Or Leave" was released worldwide. Then in 2003, a second 12-inch single "Octagon Planet" was released. Also in the same year, he started a bi-monthly party event called "mu-seum" at club LOOP.
In 2007, "FOX" was re-issued from WHD Entertainment with 2 new additional songs. Dobashi continues to thrive on a wide range of musical activities, from being a DJ to doing live shows, producing and composing soundtracks, and transcending genres in all he chooses to engage.

1/25にリリースされた土橋安騎夫 solo album「THE BEST OF ALL TIME」の中から" Voice Within "feat. JULINEのremixと "Movin' Star "のlong versionが5/9配信リリース。" Voice Within "のリミキサーには青山LOOPの中心的パーティー"in the mix"でレジデントをつとめるDJ MOCHIZUKI氏、インコグニート、Two Banks of Fourのメンバーとしても活躍中のSki Oakenfull（スキー・オークンフル）の両氏が担当。そして、スキーのremixには、インコグニートのBluey（ブルーイ）がguitarで参加。この豪華な顔ぶれによって出来上がった作品は華やかにそしてdeepだ。
