The job was for flying UAVs, but I ended up not getting it. I'm going to have to be on unemployment for a long time...I've run out of jobs I'm qualified for (or that I at least meet the requirement...I need a Bachelors degree to do any of the jobs I have experience in, experience and a bachelors degree for most anything else, or I need to become fluent in Spanish (for jobs in hotels, the food industry, construction, stores, customer service, green jobs, factories, mining, etc.) or I need to be in India (for any of the tech jobs, science-related jobs, or customer service for computer companies). Blegh...
Well, working on photography with my husband for this page, writing so that I eventually have something to publish and sell on my 'book page', keeping up with my 'personal page', the interview and keeping up with real life has kept me busy. The interview was funny, though. I flew out to Maryland for it. I didn't expect a checkride, so I ended up finishing a bit later than expected and barely made it to the airport in time for the flight back. I hope I get the job, though, even if it does mean cutting back on photography, writing, and keeping up with my pages here. Steady pay is definitely worth it.
Welcome to the newest version of what you made me start! :) I'll talk more soon, but I have to get back to catching up...it's been a busy week or so between the job interview I flew out to and everything going on at home. My whole life is like a huricane and I still haven't seen the eye of the storm. Maybe when I retire, LOL!
Ooooo, and my husband and I have worked on some new pictures... /tannergallery I still have plenty to upload, though. It's new, too. So far, I am my only friend there, LOL!
I'm pretty anti- when it comes to welfare, but then again, I'm in the US. At least the Aussies were smart enough to keep people from entering the country illegally, then getting on welfare and getting free health care. The US government still hasn't quite figured that out. I suppose if we had a welfare system that worked right, it wouldn't be so bad. I'm a veteran, so instead of getting the same help as civilians, I end up having to jump through hoops (so to speak) to get anywhere. Everything is so backwards right now...
It's too bad with your film career. Would it be possible for you and the others that made Battle Therapy to get together and sell it directly through something like iTunes? I wish I could have seen it...I know I'd buy it. Some of the best movies never got picked up by major film companies, but still made bank when the movie was released independently. Who needs the middle man? ^^
I'm glad you're enjoying Cairns, though. It's easier to deal with tough times when you enjoy where you live. Heh, I'm going through tough times here and I'm happy as can be... I'm back in the sunny southwest, here in Nevada. I'm definitely a desert rat! Of course, it helps that I'm staying with family. ^^
Eh, I'm out of the Army, so I'm unemployed with no job openings in sight. I'm all about looking ahead to other ways to survive and I'm writing a sci-fi novel and working on new artwork with my husband. The site you inspired ended up as a flop because the guy who owned the domain sold it while I was in Iraq. No biggie...I'll make a MySpace for the artwork since I can't afford my own domain, then when I can afford it, I'll make a new site...I've already written the new code.
So, you're in Cairns? If I remember right, that's in Queensland, right? How's it going there? Have any of your film ideas worked out? I hope so...they were pretty sweet sounding. Best of luck in Cains! ^^
