AKoustic Soul began in early 2007 when Kimberly Hill and Andy Wilson began playing together in the Malaga region of Spain. The idea was to create a duo in order to play local bars and restaurants, to entertain tourists and locals (and anyone who needed entertaining) with a varied set comprising of popular covers, adapted to suit the line up of guitar and vocals. This proved highly successful, with the duo playing regular gigs in the area, working as a resident band in a local bar and playing further afield in the UK and Denmark.
Shortly after, the duo began writing for their first album ‘You’. This saw a change in direction, as they began to expose their audiences to a more eclectic set of covers, and original material.
‘You’ was released in 2009, and upon releasing the limited possibilities in Spain, AKoustic Soul relocated to the UK, in order to promote themselves in the diverse music scenes of Manchester and Liverpool.
Their unique sound is hard to describe in words, and must be heard to be understood. Powerful and upbeat, yet at the same time laid back, mellow, easy to listen and enjoy.
